I have been TTC for one year.
I have irregular cycles, average 35 days, longest 42, shortest 30. I'm 35 going on 36, no other health issues, AMH normal, thyroid normal, (overweight a bit, possibly pcos/insulin resistant?) I have previously been pregnant, once when I was 18 and once three years ago naturally without trying, ending in early loss. It seems as though I'm ovulating (based on pos OPKs and ewcm) but it must be happening too late in the cycle (which results in fewer chances/poor egg/lining quality?)
So here's my question, my LMP was December 6. I saw an RE shortly after that and we set up a plan for the usual blood/us/hsg testing to start on my next CD1, which I expected early to mid January. That date came and went with no bfp and no AF, so I am in a holding pattern with the RE. I am now on to CD 53 (!) the longest I have had in many years with no AF in sight. And now, day before yesterday, I got a blaring pos lh, and I have had ewcm all day yesterday and today.
So my question is, is this cycle wayyy too gone to conceive or is it possible I just skipped a period and this is actually a good opportunity to try to conceive?
Has anyone "skipped" a period and got pregnant successfully that (long) cycle?
