Hi all

I was wondering what others experiences have been with either Vitex or Fertilaid? Or both?

I've been TTC #1 for 3 months now. I stopped the pill after 11 years (Yasmin). I had my withdrawal bleed 2 days later that lasted 5 days and since then.. NOTHING!! I've been taking Vitex for 3 weeks now with no results, wondering if I should persist with that for another week or so?

Thanks x

I took both. It didn't help for me because I have PCOS but it does work for many women. You are supposed to give it 6 full months to see if it will work for you. Good luck!

DD is a vitex baby. I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own. I was on cd100 or something and it roughy on AF and made me ovulate that next cycle and I conceived. Wasn't wven on it a full cycle :)

Don't know if you're still looking for answers but I've been on vitex for 6 months almost now. Before vitex I hadn't O'd in forever, it took clomid to make me O once out of 3 clomid cycles. Now that I've been taking vitex I O'd last month! Think I'm gearing up to O this month! And cycles are getting to regulate themselves slowly. Vitex is not a quick fix but for me at least it has worked very well so far. It took about 4 months before I started noticing positive changes. Good luck!

Hi!

Your post just reminded me I forgot to take my Vitex today....

But yes, I have been taking Vitex for about 2 months now, no success... but that's only because I tend to take breaks due to my forgetfulness. I've heard wonderful things Vitex can do. I did a little research and found out for women with PCOS (such as me) it can balance your hormones perfectly or completely mess it up. I guess it depends on what hormonal imbalances you are working with.

I also read on another forum a long thread of women trying to conceive and eventually for both of them it has worked and they both got their bfps!

Thanks all for your responses, very interesting!

Since posting I have found out I have PCOS too. I asked my obgyn (a fertility expert) what his thoughts on Vitex are. He said there's no medical evidence that it works, but also that it doesn't do any harm. He said he doesn't have a problem if patients decide to take it.

Anyway, I've decided not to take it anymore as I saw no effects from it. I have been on provera and have finally got my AF yesterday, after over 80 days! In a few days I'll be taking letrozole to help me O so hopefully that helps :)

I'm so happy for you! I remember when you decided to only go "natural" to try something different. This is wonderful news :flower:

I would keep taking your supplements. It takes 3 months for you to "feel" or "see" any affects from anything you put into your body. You probably won't feel or see anything even if it's working. For some ladies it seems to help regulate their cycles. Do you have a reason to be taking it in the first place (it's great you are, but if you don't have pcos or poor egg quailty you may not see or feel any differently, but it doesn't mean it is not helping.)

Vitex screwed up my cycle for 5 months :/ my regular 29 day cycle went to 38 days and I didn't O for 3 of those months. My RE told us to that he never recommends this since it's known for screwing up cycles. I took it after 2 years ttc and many cycles of clomid and femara so it wasn't just a fluke :/

If your cycle is regular you should NOT take vitex. It's a slow acting herb which works by correcting hormonal issues. So if you are regular it's still going to try and fix your hormones which means it will screw them up.
