has anyone used provera?

I havent had a period in over a year and im becoming increasingly frustrated with the fact that it just isnt happening. I cant chart or anything and ttc is just being put on hold has anyone been put on provera to start a period? Did you ask your doctor for it? Did it work?

Yes, this was me before TTC #1. I was on BCP for 10 years before that. When I came off, I didn't get a period. My doctor put me on provera which helped bring on my period. However I then got blood test run by a specialist who found that my estrogen was very low, so there wasn't a lining being built up for me to shed (which is why I didn't get my period). I would definitely see your doctor to get some blood tests run.

Had my bloods taken. Apparently everything is normal except I have extremely low progesterone levels :/

I have PCOS and only get about 2-3 periods a year on my own. My doctor has given me Provera before to bring on AF. I took one pill a day for a week and then got AF the day after my last pill. It was HELL though. Worst AF of my life.

My doctor wouldnt give it to me. They said that they cant give me anything to help and I have to wait to see a specialist my last bleed wasnt even a period. It was after I had my daughter. My last real period was almost 2 years ago. Im dreading having the first one as I know its gonna be horrible and just feel the longer they leave it the worse its going to be I finally have an appointment with a specialist at the end of may but no guarantee they will give me provera either. Not sure whether I should just wait now or go see my doc and ask for provera because I now know he can prescribe it

I didn't have more than 2 periods in two years and was FTC the whole time obviously with no luck. I was prescribed provera to induce a period twice, worked like a charm, then prescribed clomid the same cycle and ovulated!!

Were you prescribed it by your doctor? Im not sure whether to go back to doc and ask him for it or just wait and see the specialist first :/

I'm having that very issue!! What has the doctor done for you to have more estrogen?

I also was put on provera, but had a severe allergic reaction...hives and rashes. Hopefully you do great!!

Im just getting so frustrated now I just want to have a period so I can start to ttc properly. So I know what cycle day I'm on etc
