Has doctor been this rude to you?/Worst appt EVER

That is just plain rude!
I also had a horrible dr's visit today and left the office feeling like you! I had all of my bloodwork done, and hubby had his sperm analysis. We had to wait 3 months to come back in for a recheck and to go over our results. My FSH was pretty high, in the 40s, and he pretty much washed his hands of us. Gave us absolutely no hope, said that I have a 2% chance of getting pregnant and if I wanted to try IVF, we'd have to use a donor egg! That my eggs are "spent". Then I asked about hubby's sperm results and he gave us this look that insinuated that we have much bigger problems than a sperm sample, and then couldn't find the results! So we left the office with no results. He acted so cold towards us..
Doctors really suck!
I'm gonna try acupuncture...

OHMYGAWD--that just totally wiped out my visit--your doctor was HATEFUL--not merely rude!!!! HOLY CR*P!!!! I am so so so so sorry!!!!

Can you possibly go to another doctor? When we had my DH's SA done, the results came back in 2 weeks. And your egges being "spent"--WTH?!?!?---there are ways to help with that, that I have learned on THIS forum site!!! I am myself on Bee Pollen capsules, CoQ10--both which help with egg quality and other aspects of health that are VERY beneficial.

You know what?--I think we both ran into doctors who forget THEY ARE NOT GODS. PERIOD. I myself am not even supposed to be here--my mom's doctors had washed their hands of her too...and that case of heartburn that wouldn't go away for almost 3 months turned out to be me

Please please please tell me you can possibly go somewhere else...? I am not going back to this asshat--but I have that option, and others don't...I am praying you can SnortyBear....

Please don't let doctors put you off. They all have theur own personal opinion. If you want a baby then keep trying, stay positive and look at supplements to help you.

I am lucky and have 4. First aged 36 then 37.5 then 39 and lil one born 4 weeks before I turned 43. I did have Miscarriage before no 4. I took various supplements including Ovaboost. This I think helped and my friend who is now 42 just gave birth to her first. She had several chemicals over a year then I advised she tried this Ovaboost and her partner on zinc and bingo.

Good luck ladies and don't give up.

He sounds like a complete jerk! You can totally have a healthy baby!!! Many women do it!

I've had a doctor come across as a cold-hearted a-hole...some don't have people skills. This doctor goes beyond lacking people skills!

DH and I just got home from a fertility visit with a local OBGYN. I researched this doctor, had found him to have glowing reviews about his demeanor & bedside manner, so I made this appt a week ago, and we went today. He practically did everything except physically escort us out of his office once he learned I am 41.

He went into every stat he could rattle off the top of his head about difficulties not only with getting pregnant over 35, but difficulties in having a healthy baby at all---and then ended with if we wanted, he would give us a referral to a specialist if we wanted to look into IVF, since (in his exact words) "It makes more sense to have a 20-something egg as a donor so you can have a healthy baby" and taking a chance otherwise, we could "have a baby that would be a problem for (our) family".

I stayed polite, but when DH and I got to the car, DH exploded. I was (and still am) numb...I'd appreciate thoughts from other ladies here---was he being the voice of reason, or being a negative Nellie....(?) I KNOW the stats...however, I had hope...if I hadn't been told by a previous OBGYN a few years back that he wouldn't even consider me a "high risk" pregnancy until I was 44 (and that, he said, was case-by-case), I think I'd just give it all up.

Don't, just DON'T!! If you're feeling like this is your way to make the life happier and absolutely fulfill it than no age matter should be the obstacle for you. I'm 40 yo, suffering from Endo and PCOS. Willing to have children so much!! Have been struggling since 2012, have had 1 round clomid, 2 fresh ivf cycles. Now we're waiting for the miracle using donor eggs for the procedure. We've already had our 1st app conducted in Biotexcom (Ukraine). This is the furthest place we've been to seeking the right way out. I'm not sure I may say this here, but its staff is lovely. These are understanding and truly supportive people. We haven't had a single matter with them by this time.
I remember our first call to the clinic. I worried about saying my age, but to my surprise they said they had no age limits for the procedure, just health once. I mean if pregnancy is not prohibited for you - that's all.

There are so many options to try!!! Don't listen to your madly unprofessional doc who isn't able even to say a single soothing word to a lovely couple trying for a baby. Find another expert and be sure the game is faaar not over!!!
