I am 17 weeks pregnant and this is my 7th baby. I had been feeling movements for quite a few weeks now but I was diagnosed with GD at 15 weeks and have been on a low carb/lowfat/no sugar diet ever since.
At first I had felt the baby move but for nearly a week now I have felt nothing.
I tried to find babies heartbeat using my doppler but have run out of gel and I am waitning for more.
I told my community midwife last monday and also a midwife at my hospital appointment on Tuesday but neither of them seemed concerned and offered no advice.
I think I would get the same responce if I phoned triage as I am only 17 weeks.
I know that for some pregnant women they havent even felt anything at this stage but as I said, this is my 7th baby and I had been getting quite strong movements and I have not felt anything.
I am really worried :(

If you're worried - get it checked out! Call the midwife and insist on being seen, it's your 7th baby - you have some clout with gut instincts. Good luck. X

I agree. Insist of being checked out. I hope all is well (I'm sure it is!)

Also agree insist on getting checked out, call your maternity ward today. I use baby oil when using my Doppler not the gel and it works to save you waiting. Let us know how you get onx

I think you will struggle to be seen if your in the UK, my midwife said they don't take any movement worries seriously until 22-23 weeks.. I was concerned about movement but got shot down, as it was too early, and baby has lots of room, and probably changed positions?

I ran out of gel ages ago and bought cheap hair gel in tesco - works great with my doppler. Hope everything's ok, can't you call the epu?

Try some clean oil. Hopefully baby has just turned around and is kicking into a part you cant feel x

Kids have been quiet this morning and I did feel the baby kick so i'm sure all is ok. I contacted my comunity midwife and she said to phone the hospital and ask them to check me but I know if I phoned that they would turn me away. EPU dont see you after 16 weeks and they are not open today anyway.
Will try the baby oil as Im sure I have some somewhere :)

The epu here sees you up till 24 weeks  really glad you've felt movement

Get it checked, just for peace of mind.

This is my 2nd. From 13 weeks I felt flutters every day. At 16 weeks I felt proper kicks, jabs and stretches. From exactly 17 weeks I felt nothing, not one kick or jab :(

I asked the MW and she said it was normal but I couldn't understand why I would feel it so well for weeks and then nothing!

It made no sense, everyone said it was normal and if I'd not felt it at all up to then, then I'd not have worried but that wasn't the case.

Luckily I had a doppler at home which kept my worries from overwhelming me.

At 20 weeks I finally started feeling baby again. It's only just got as strong as it was at 26 weeks and I'm 21+2 now.

I've not been given any explanation really, it may have been a growth spurt or the uterus moving out of my pelvis and having more room, although I think that happens earlier. I'm thinking maybe it was my placenta growing. It's always been at the front but maybe it grew enough to mask my movements? I'm not sure.

But at least now I can feel her again I get reassured. I hope yours picks up again soon!

My experience was similar to BethK. Now I'm 23w and this kid has been kicking like crazy. I used my doppler to make sure he was OK. Good luck OP!
