Has anyone been to Haggeston Castle haven before? whats it like? please
xx

:( not me hun but we always have a good holiday in Haven :) I would say if you can upgrade to the next grade up for caravan. x

we have booked it now hun :) and we have got a 3 bed prestige caravan 2013 model. just hope the park is good xx

it just does not look like there is much to do .... but a hol is what you make it :)

ooh hope you have a lovely time! When are you going? x

I havent been to that one but i love going to Havens Weymouth Bay site.

We booked nice and early for a Holiday next June so got a nice Caravan at a good price for a week :D

We usually have a good time at Haven's. Hastings is the only one we have not x

We are going August so far away yet haha! only thing thats worrying me (I always find something ;)) is that it only has 1 showbar so I am guessing in the 6 weeks hols its going to be packed out :/

does not look much nearby....only Alenwick castle where harry potter was filmed and holy island. hope there is enough to do for a week but I do love caravan holidays :D

was also a really good price!

I LOVE CARAVAN HOLIDAYS TOO - our first one was in new forest hobourne - caravan was absoloutely lovely and the sights around that area are beautiful and the entertainment and things to do onsite were good, the year after
We stayed at Haven in weymouth bay and even though we upgraded the caravan, we werent impressed BUT still we had a great time, on site and entertainment was so much better at haven - we are going to Haven in rockley park next year and we have made sure we got at a better caravan and i am confident that the entertainment and on site facilities will be just as good x

Did you not like Weymouth bay? It's my favourite haven! (that I've been to lol) X

Yes it was lovely - wasnt impressed with the caravan but there was so much to do in that area and in the park - apparently rockley park is suppose to be the best one which is why we are trying out that one next year x

Not been to that one but I remember going to hastins haven when I was about 10 and have some great holiday memories of it

Thanks all :D did not want to be too far or too close to home and this haven is 2hrs away so perfect. so looking forward to it already lol, really missed a holiday this year xx

I haven't been to Haggerston Castle in YEARS (it had Bradley Bear as a mascot last time I was there, so it must have been about 17 years ago lol) but I have been on camping holidays in the area. There's loads of little seaside towns, like Bamburgh and Seahouses with beaches and chippies and the like so there's loads to do locally to keep wee ones occupied. Personally, I can't recommend Lindisfarne enough although I am very much into my Viking stuff lol.

Rockley Park is brilliant, I've been there 3 times with my family. I'd recommend trying out the beach at the park - it's not that big but handy if your kids are smaller and just want to play in the sand a bit, and Sandbanks beach in Poole which is freakin' GORGEOUS although it does get busy quickly during school holidays so I'd say plan what day you're going to go and make a day of it. There's a bus that goes into Poole from the park every hour or so and, there's a massive Asda which is obviously cheaper than the park shop/takeaways.

Apart from Rockley Park, Primrose Valley is really good too (near Scarborough/Filey), been there a few times (my mum and dad really like their caravan holidays/my dad refuses to go abroad lol).

Thanks :) I have been to rockly park when I was around 11, cant really remember it! plus its too far away for us to travel.
and we went to primrose valley 2 years ago and really enjoyed it and considered going back but I fancied a change to a different park. xx

I have been there. It's lovely!!!

ETA: It was quite a while ago though.

Its all changed now, it had a face lift a couple of years ago. one of the bars has been changed into a pub/resturant.......cant imagine how packed one showbar is going to get in the school holidays :/ sure we will have a great time though xx

We went to Northumberland in September. Didn't stay at Haggerston but not too far away.

We went to:
Alnwick Castle & Gardens (Highly recommend)
Bamburgh Castle
Seahouses
Holy Island (not worth going to be honest) cost a fortune to go around the castle & walked around in about 20mins. Just a load of Edwardian furniture. Was really disappointed.
You can get a boat ride to the Farne Islands to see the Seals.
You have Berwick & Alnwick for shopping.

ETA: For Alnwick Castle & Gardens, buy the ticket online before you go. You save 5% & print out the ticket. You don't then need to queue when you get there. The tickets were £25 each (for both Castle & Garden) but when you get there you can 'unlock' the ticket which means you can go back as many times as you like within a year. It's a doable drive from Teesside to go to Alnwick for the day.
