Having mild contractions every 8 minutes, real deal?

I was having loads of BH last night, then woke up at 2:30am and have been having mildly painful contractions every 8 minutes or so since (it's almost 530am where I am now). Do labour pains start off mild like this or are these just strong BH?

I have heard bh arent meant to be painful. Maybe call hosp or mw? Good luck! xx

Thanks for the reply. They are still regular but not increasing in intensity or anything. I think I'll wait to see if they progress before I call. Just not sure whether to get excited or if this is just yet another "false start!". I'm going to try and get more sleep though, 3 hours is not enough, wish I'd gone to bed earlier!

Thanks I hope yours starts soon too! I'm pretty sure this is it for me now. They've been regular for the past 7 hours now. They hurt but not as much as I thought (yet) but are only on average 8-10 minutes apart (5-13 minutes has been the full range). I was able to sleep for 2 hours. My mom just told me she was about 10 minutes apart for 3 days with my sister though, ugh, hopefully I'll progress a little quicker than that!

My daughters were 10mins apart until I had quite a warm bath (hot really ). And they moved to 6mins, I went in and I was 4cm dilated, she was born 4 hours later.

Thanks! How painful where they at 10 minutes apart? Did the pain change significantly when they hit 6 minutes? For me right now the pain is enough to make me need to take a couple breaths but I can still talk through them.

At 10mins felt like BH's but with lower back period pain. At 6 mins, not really painful at all, but I could really feel the skin/bump tightning. When I was in the car I honestly thought I was going to get sent away because of how little pain I was in. But everyones is differen't. I have quite a high pain threshold.
