HB and scan

I've heard that HB can maybe give an indication of gender, is this right?

I had my 16wk MW appointment today. She found the HB straight away and her exact comment with widened eyes was 'wow that's one busy and active baby'. It really made me feel great and positive for the first time in this pregnancy ( I'm a total, irritating worry warts)

HB was 146bpm. According to the old wives tale, which way does this sway. I'm so impatient. I have my 20 wk scan on 28th Nov, so only 4 weeks till we officially find out.

I've attached my 12wk scan again for any guesses / Nub genius'.

hi Loola,

First of Congrats on your pregnancy!

I found that the HB OWT is what it stands for a Tale... I have 3 girls and their HB were all very different @ different gestations. Basically a baby that has been awake for a while and moving more (@time of scan) will have a higher HB and a sleeping(y) or just woken baby will have a lower HB.
The heart doesn't beat faster nor slower based on what's between babies legs

Based on your scan picture I'm guessing GIRL for you, however 12 weeks is still early and babies flat nub could potentially raise (BOY) by week 13!

I'm so impatient , the only definite is, we have a baby and that's the main thing.

It looks like 28th Nov will be a happy day for us both.
