HCG level less than 10ku/l?

Have just heard from midwife that I need an early u/s as my hcg level is below 10. Has anyone else had this or can anyone tell me what an average hcg level should be?

Blood tests were last week, was when I had spina bifida and downs screening. They phoned with those results which were great but she said HCG was low. She said should be at least 10 and mine is 9.9. Sounds a bit too close for me to worry so when she asked me to go for scan this Friday I told her I was busy so I'm booked in for next friday, 7th March. My 20 week scan was booked for 19th March and she now says that if they see all they need to next week they'll cancel the other one.
I now have my OH who works in London trying to sort that day off too now cos he'd booked to be home on 19th! M/W did give me a tip to go with an empty bladder next Friday so they maybe won't see all they need to. Will try that.
Low HCG levels are supposed to mean that you have a higher risk of mc, which I don't want obviously at 17 weeks, or any other time!
Looking at the info you've posted for me, I reckon my result translates to 9,900mIU/L because she told it me in kU/L. My blood tests were taken at 16 weeks and 2 days so I think I fall between the dates on the info.

TBH, I was more worried about thought of OH not getting to u/s. With him only being home w/ends is really hard for him to feel a part of this. I'm going to try the empty bladder thing and fingers crossed I'll have to have the second scan too so will be a bonus eh?
