HCG Levels at 5 weeks 6 days...Are they normal??

Hi everyone,

I had my bloodwork done yesterday following a miscarriage 7 weeks ago they wanted to make sure everything was going well this time!...I got my results back today, They were 4,281...The doctor said to come in to discuss and I panicked, but when I got there he said it was well within range and I will come back in tomorrow to have another and make sure they are rising...I took a CB Digital on Monday and it said 'Pregnant 3+' which I read you have to have levels of 20,000 or more to get that results, So I am confused!?!..Can anyone help??...X

I would say that is well within the range. HCG varies SO MUCH! check out this website... https://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single

I was nervous because my hcg at 10dpo was only 17... but apparently that is slightly higher than average. I go tomorrow for my 2nd draw!

Good luck for tomorrow I also go in for my second betas at 10.30am tomorrow, Although I assume we won't get the results till Monday because of the weekend??...Soo nervous to see how much they rise!...X

I luckily will get mine back tomorrow as I'm "high risk" at my doctors office and I need to know so that I can start progesterone supplements if necessary.

I had hcg level done when I had just got a 3+ on my cb digi and they were 4799 so I dont think it's correct that it has to be over 20,000 to be 3+. I had read that somewhere else too but it is obviously not a fact. Your levels sound fine. Fingers crossed they rise tomorrow, remember they dont need to double, they like them to have risen by 66% over 48hrs. Good luck xx

Thanks Donna I will update when I get the results!...I read on a forum a few minutes ago that a lady phoned up Clearblue Helpline and they said it was 2000/mlui NOT 20,000..So I'm not sure why they haven't corrected it on their website!?! It would seem a massive jump seen as 1-2 weeks is 25/mlui and 2-3 is 200/mlui, So to jump to 20,000 in a week is madness!!...You are right, My doctor said they don't necessarily double once you get into the thousands, as long as they rise significantly!...Ooo, it's going to be a long weekend waiting ...X

I got my digi early on and on Friday found in carrying twins, don't worry everytime doctors want to discuss doesn't automatically mean bad. Good lick

Aaah I thought it must be 2000 not 20,000, Good to know!!...Thanks I automatically thought it must be bad...He didn't mention twins but I assume my levels would be higher if I was carrying more than 1 ...Congrats on having twins, So exciting!!...X

That's ok, yes twins are exciting not feeling it at the moment though feel so Ill with sickness and nausea. I'm hoping it passes in such a wimp when it comes to pregnancy hormones

I had mine checked at 5+4 and they were 8,336 not getting them checked again as they just wanted to see if it was a new pregnancy from last month. Ive been googling and the range varies so much... x

That's a really good number for 5 weeks ..I had mine taken again this morning (48 hours later) and have to wait until Monday for the results, I'm very nervous as I expected it to be higher than 4,000 at 5+4 for some reason, God I hope they go up significantly!!..X

I know this is an older thread, but how did the beta rise go? I am 5 weeks 6 days today and had my betas done and they are 6396. Not sure what to think of them as the range is so crazy big.

At 5 weeks I was 2225 and 5w2d I should have been 4450 I'm assuming. Your number soukds great to me.

Hi, Well my numbers were obviously good as I am 35 weeks now with a strong kicky baby boy in my belly!! From what I remember, My numbers were in the 7000's a few days later, So they hadn't quite doubled but here I am, expecting the little beaut to make an appearance in a few weeks!!Your numbers sound great so don't worry, Congratulations!!...x

Aaaw thanks :-D...Try not to worry!! I am sure everything will be fine, After an early miscarriage last year, I spent the whole first trimester with this one super paranoid and on edge, but the 12 week scan will be here before you know it and you can start to relax then, Good luck!!...x
