*Warning* Watch out for the unexpected head butt!!!

I was holding Bun over my shoulder (had just finished burping him) and he is one of those babies that is always moving around so I was trying to hold him steady. Suddenly he rocked his head back then right into my face, head-butting me in my mouth. Ouch!
It smashed my teeth into both lips and I was bleeding, while Bun just sat there with a content look on his face! :haha:

xx

ive been subjected to many headbutts, pokes in the eye and today she sneezed on my phone. lovely!! lol

Just you wait until he gets in the rocking phase. I'd had my fill of headbuts to the nose/lip/cheek/shoulder/teeth and then he learnt to sit up. Now when he's tired or upset or bored he rocks back and forth on my lap and smashes the back of his head/body into my chest.

Glad it's not just me! I don't know what hurts the most, my teeth or her head!

loooooooool. I try to support his head with my cheek to avoid it. But the target is always my nose. I guess I will need a nose-job after I am done with winding :D

Aww Evie does this all the time!!! Usually she headbutts OH's collarbone and he's a bony lad so it makes her cry..bottom lip out and real tears  so now he's taken to holding her with a blanket over his shoulder to "pad" himself out a bit!
Just lately she's been grabbing my bottom lip and digging her nails into my gum ... that bloody hurts!

Caleb does this to and it comes sharp to. The oh was holding him and caleb did it to him but this time caleb did cry and he cried but only for about a Min .xx

Oooo it's so painful when they do it! My son did it to me when he was a baby, and I had the nose bleed from hell!

Wow - I guess there's lots of us on the receiving end of the dreaded head butt!

Kitten - I'm not looking forward to the rocking phase at all! Bun is a very active and squirmy baby - so I am sure thats not the last time he'll get me!

And Mynx - He hasn't gotten my lip yet, but my poor OH has gotten his lip grabbed with those sharp little fingernails more than once!

xx

Ava smacks her head into my head sometimes! It doesn't hurt but it scares the hell out of me. It can't be good for her to bump her head like that. And she also grabs my neck when I am rocking her to sleep. She will dig her sharp fingernails into my neck and I'll have scratches right where she was pinching/scratching me and it HURTS.

Wait until he starts wanting to stand up, and thrusts himself up at you :dohh:

hi im new to the forum i have a 11 week baby girl the last couple of days shes headbutted me twice in the cheek im worried sick incase its hurt her in any way my oh tells me to stop worrying and that im being silly but i feel sick to stomach about it from reading your posts it seems quiet normal that babies have a tendancy to do this but i still cant help but worry.
