Just curious... I know weight and height percentile are supposed to be somewhat similar... But how about their head?

Took LO to her 4 month check up yesterday, and she weighs in at 16lb 11oz, 97% for weight, and 24.5", 94% for height...

But her head is only 50%... Is that okay?

Doctor didn't say anything, but her head was average, and that she was doing great.

As long as she is following her curve from birth that is perfectly healthy 😀

I don't think the percentiles have to corrolate with eachother, my Lo is big but just like in pregnancy when going for scans etc some figures are bigger than others by a large gap. Don't let it worry you

Yeah my LO is all over the place. She's 75% for weight, 50% for HC and 25% for height.

As a PP said, as long as your LO is generally following the same curve it's totally fine!

At 4 months my lo was 10% for height, 75% for weight, and 95% for head circumference. His height and weight keep changing % over the months, but his head is consistently 95th. I don't think there's really any correlation.

My little man is the same. He is 95th for height around 90th for weight and 50th for head, I think it's fairly normal.

I really don't think they have anything to do with each other. The only problem would be if there was a major change, and if you're doctor isn't concerned I wouldn't be either :hugs:

For reference Eli measures ^99% for head circumference 35% for height, and 70% for weight. Really all this tells me is he has a big head, is slightly chubby and short :haha:

when DD was born she was 75% for height, 52% for weight and 5% for head LOL. They said they actual size of the head does not matter just as long as it continues to grow. At 9 months old she is now in the 11% for height, 26% for weight and <5% for head they do not seemed worried at all as she looks proportionate and her head is following the curve its supposed to!

Sounds good. It doesn't matter what percentile they are as long they are not going off their curve too much in either direction unless their height and weight is following the same pattern .my son grew fast and his head and height stayed portioned for HIS body type. My little girl was born with a very small head (5-10% I cant remember at the moment) but she is fine.

My youngest is unlike my others as he was born between 25th and 50th centile for HC, between 75th and 91st for weight and we think about 75th for length though they didn't measure him for that but just judging on how his clothes fit. My others tended to outstrip everything else in HC and jumped 1-2 centiles in HC as well xx

My daughter has a humungous head. She's in the 25-50th percentile for both height and weight and her head is in the 90+ percentile. It's always been that way. I just think it's kind of funny... My doctor isn't worried :haha:

Sounds like Eli :haha: first thing the doctors said when they pulled him out, was wow! He has such a big head. His head was so big they told me I would need to have a c-section if I ended up pregnant again (solely because of the size) :dohh:
He's also off the charts! Always put ^99%

My LO's head has always been the same percentile as his height (both 90th). That said, his pediatrician said his head was big because he was Chinese. His doctor is Chinese though and has a huge head so it didn't come off wrong. :haha: My DH's head is abnormally large too so no surprise.

LOL! Same here! I had a 4th degree episiotomy and a vaccum delivery and I think her head size was a huge contributor. Apparently I had a large head too, according to my mom, so I imagine it's somewhat genetic.

The women in my family are pretty small, so I wonder if my daughter will look like an Olsen twin - kind of like those aliens with big heads and small bodies :haha:

Lol! OH is the big headed one in our family! Must be genetic. The doctor commented on OHs head and told me to choose better :haha:

Guess I should've carried a tape measurer around with me!

My mil actually had to have an emergency c section because of my husband's large head
