Head engaged at 36/ 40 weeks induction.

Hello all,

I had my final scan yesterday and it went really well (36+1)
Baby was already estimated 7lb6 and was way above for everything else, sitting above 90th centile.

with all being well and my BP staying as stable as it has I can go to 40 weeks but he doesn't want her in any longer than that so has put to be induced, first with a sweep, for personal reasons I would like to avoid a sweep and have a natural birth.

is there anything that could potentially help me go before 40 weeks or are any of these any tell tale signs already?

bump has dropped and baby is engaged.
I am absolutely exhausted!
Had some discharge but not enough for the mucus plug yet.
I am happy to wait, and would love her to grown a bit more, but really would love her to come naturally.

Try not too worry about the growth scan measurements.
According to that my son should of been a giant 9lbs or over was already so say7lbs at 34 weeks.

Had him at 37 weeks and he was 7lb 6oz haha.
They said even at 37 weeks he wud be 9lbs or over. I was so scared I thought I was gonna give birth to a teenager haha.

Also with my DD they said she was 7lb at 35 weeks and i had her 4 days later she was 5lb 7oz so scans were way out both times.

Is this ure first?
If not then they can engage quite early.

Don't really know anything to get things going.

I tried it all with DS1 and went 2 weeks over.

I'm alway induced now at 37 weeks because I'm high risk pregnancy and I've had a liver transplant.

Hopefully ure little won't keep u waiting and will make a early appearance.

My DS was fully engaged and I was 2cm dilated for 2 weeks . He ended up being 6 days over ! I tried loads of things to bring on Labour too !

DS had a growth scan at 30 weeks and was measuring 4lb 3oz . He was born weighing 9lb 8oz my girls where only 8lb each ! Like Suggerhoney says they can be well out and really only a general estimate .

Hopefully she will make an early appearance ! You just never know when labour is going to start ! Good luck x

my first baby was 8'13 a week early, so I am prepared for big baby, but do think the predictions might be slightly off.

@Suggerhoney it is my second, so perhaps she is engaged quite early. I now have appointments 2x weekly so will surely get some questions answered tomorrow, my poor midwife I nag her life away!

I had SPD with both DS and DD2 so I got sweeps from 38 weeks first one I was 1cm then another one at 39 weeks I was 2cm then another one at 40 weeks still 2 cm and then he was born at 40+6 . I think the last sweep really kicked it off because she went around his head so many times and then I started loosing the mucus plug ! When I got the hospital I was already 6cm he was born within 3 hours. I was getting a lot of BH and awful pressure not to mention the lightening crotch when I walked ! I thought my waters were going to break doing the school run! But no kept us waiting !
I hope she comes soon !!

My OH is still deployed with the military and home in a week, so its stuck in between of come soon but not too soon. As long as she arrives healthy that is the main thing!

he is officially home in 2 days!

i started expressing due to high risk of low blood sugars in baby and contracted constantly, if I have spicy food I contract and when I was for a while. So I have stopped doing these things until he is home. He does also need to isolate when he is back but at least he will be here. I am hoping that the many things will help bring on labour before 40 weeks, seen as I contract with them all, just have to work on the sex one! He is already answering that for me though
