Seren has been doing this for a while now, but now I'm starting to get concerned about it. It's not constantly tilted, but she always tilts her head so that her ear is pressed up against her shoulder, then she kind of does it repetitively.
Anyone else's Lo's done this or heard of it? x
Thanks for any replies

Edit - This is kind of what she does, but she doesn't normally smile, she's only smiling because she likes the orange light on the camera lol

could be an ear infection or just teething..get it checked out though x

Thanks, I'm going to take her to the doctors this week.
Has anyone else had experience of it though? She's done it loads today, not sure about it being an ear infection though because she's done it on and off for months... Could it really be teething?

I don't know how to really describe what she's doing, but it's like she's bobbing her head sideways, bring her shoulder up a bit so that her head is resting against her shoulder, and then she brings it back up and bobs it over and over, if that makes sense? She doesn't seem in pain when she's doing it or anything but she pulls a scrunched up face.

My LO doesnt have this, but her cousin who is the same age has this quite severely! She's been for physio and scans etc but nothing has come of it. She doesnt do it all the time which is odd. Some days its totally normal, and other her head is totally hanging to one side. It can look totally uncomfortable sometimes although she too isn't in pain with it. I think it looks worse than it actually is. We're all hoping its something she'll grow out of once she has more control of her body and can hold her head better. Definatly worth getting it checked out though. Sorry Ive not been able to answer anything really. xxx

could it b a little tic type thing? my nephew used to do this weird thing with his eyebrows all the time but eventually grew out of it.

Are you sure she's not playing? Byron's just started doing this. It began a couple of weeks ago when we were eating out and he was in a high chair and he did it so I copied and he found it hilarious and now does it all the time at everyone.

It could be anything. She could be hearing how sounds change when she moves her head about or looking at things from different angles.

Everyone when they see her doing it thinks she's playing, and I did at first, but now it's just starting to bother me, because she does it when she's playing on her own and no-ones really focused on her... Maybe though, I hope it's something as simple as that.

AJ's started 'playing' doing this,he also thinks its funny as we will do it back!
He'll also do it when no-one is looking at him and will sit there for ages as if to say 'well look at me then!'

Hope its nothing :hugs:

yep Hannah did this right before her bottom teeth came in

I would never have guessed that it could have something to do with teething, she's had her bottom teeth through but maybe it could be her top two bothering her now.
Ahh, these replies are making me feel better... I've had a bit of a crazy mummy day today, and I've googled ALOT, which is never a good idea.

Alex does it quite often, sometimes when he's playing with people but also I think he likes to see what things look like from a different angle, so often does it when nobody is focussing on him.

It could be nothin g but it could possibly be torticollis - a tightening of the muscles on one side of the neck. If you're concerened take her to the GP - it can be easily treated with physio if that's what it is :-) x

Thanks for all the advice girls, I took her to the doctor, she checked her neck and her ears and wasn't concerned, she said it's probably just a little habit, and that she'll prob grow out of it, if not to take her back :)

I so can relate to how you must be feeling, my daughter does this as well, I took her to the doctor who wasn't concerned and said because she has neck movement in both directions it's just out of habit from when she was lying down alot...so will grow out of it eventually... I still wasn't convinced so had a referal to the physio who said the same thing but she advised me to encourage her to look in the direction of the side she titlts her head..... I read up about torticollis but both the doctor and physio have assured me its not that.... I just hope she stops doing it :(
