I'm wondering if anyone can help.
Leo had a hearing test 2 months ago under the neonatal team. He was very distracted and kept "cheating" so it wasn't really conclusive. They did say there was evidence of glue ear, but put it down to teething.
Today he had a hearing test under the community health service team, he heard very loud noises but didn't do too well otherwise, they seemed concerned and when she had a look in his ears/did the pressure test, she said it was very "wiggly" as she'd expected and it indicated glue ear. She said it was a flat line, rather than having a peak, in both ears.
She then went on to say she was going to rush a referral through to the ENT department at the hospital and started talking to me about gromets. To be honest it all went over my head, I don't really understand it all. I've tried Googling (I know....) but I don't really know what I'm looking for if that makes sense. I felt daft asking if it was a bad case, so didn;t..
Anyway, his notes say,
Levels raised on both sides, 65db. Tymps flat on both sides
I can't understand why I didn't notice if there's a big problem.
One confused mummy.. does anyone know anything about this?? Thanks in advance.
