Ugh, I get it at all hours of the day and it makes me feel nasty! I've heard having lots of heart burn means the baby will have a lot of hair...if thats true she's going to be Rapunzel or something :haha:

It's horrible isnt it. It is safe to take an antiacid hun. :hugs: Im suffering too!

i'm suffering too, MAJORLY! it's just constantly burning in my throat and feels like I'm going to be sick fire :(
I've read so many things that are supposed to help but they just don't. Even gavascon doesn't help :'( x

aahhh! heartburn :(
i'm sorry.. i hated heartburn although it was MUCH better than morning sickness lol. have you tried drinking milk? and avoiding like orange juice, onions and stuff? just wait until you have her though, the heartburn will instantly go away and you will feel a million times better :flower:

When I was preggo I had horrible heartburn. Took gaviscon everywhere with me lol. If I ran out of gaviscon, I'd make strawberry milkshake lol! Isaac had quite a bit of hair, not loads and loads though... so I reckon the heartburn/hair thing is probably semi-true! =]

I had really bad heartburn, now I forget what it feels like :haha: , Q had some hair, but i wouldn't say alot

my OB put my on twice daily ranitidine (sp?) for my heartburn.
helps a pretty good bit.

I had sooo much heartburn when I was pregnant.. and she came out with loads of hair lol everybody loves her fluffy hair.. but my friend Alyscia had more heartburn than I did and her baby came out bald lol so who knows ..heartburn does suck though

TOTALLY!! I seem to have a gag reflex to gavascon!!

Ahh does it really go away as soon as you give birth? That's reassuring to know! I've never had anything like this.. it's terrible.
A lot of us seem to be suffering with it, it's strange that it's so common yet I've never heard of it being worse in pregnancy before.

Milk used to really really help but I over did it and now it doesn't help as much. I'm going to try yoghurts next. Like activia or something... x

It's very usual to have worse heartburn during pregnancy.

As baby grows and your uterus stretches it forces your stomach up into your ribs, meaning that there's a shorter distance between your stomach and throat. Because of this any stomach acid that travels up your esophagus has less distance to travel to cause discomfort.

Here's an internal view of your organs at 20 weeks, 28 weeks, 36 weeks, and 40 weeks.

I hear you! I have had HORRIBLE heartburn through out, even water gives me heartburn, lol.

I was watching a show on discovery health and they said its true that heartburn is linked to babies with hair but im sure thats not always the case lol.

get your doc to prescribe malox! o my goodness what a saviour. gaviscon sucks ass!!! lol xxx

I had TERRIBLE heartburn with my son, like constantly and this was him at birth.. (attached img) Barely any hair at all!

I have pretty bad heartburn now, but with certain foods, I find ginger-ale has helped heeps. I'm 90% positive she will have a ton of hair like her daddy did.

GAVILAST. lasts 12 hours, isn't a chalky liquid and u don't have to chew it, it's just one tablet with water.
i've been told i can take it in pregnancy by my midwife, and oh my god it's working a right treat!!
