Heart Murmur And GA's

My son has his MRI next week which will be performed under a GA, thing is his heart appointment to check his 'innocent murmur' is innocent isnt untill mid January.

Anyone's LO had murmur investigations? Do they require a GA or anything?

Im thinking about cancelling the MRI untill we know he's hearts defo ok because of the GA, but then im wondering if the tests to check his heart are gonna involve sedation it defeats the object!?

Someone please help me out here! Or even opinions as to what you would do!

GA's absoloutly terrify me!

Alex is being investigated for a murmer.
He had a scan at 8 months and again last month at 2 1/2.
He has a murmer still.

They do not have sedation for a heart scan at all.

Do you have a pre op check for his mri with a dr or anaethetist?
The anaethetist will not use a general anaethestic unless it is totally safe. That may actually be done when you get there on that day.

If not ring the hospital dept who is sorting out the heart murmer and ask if he could be sooner as you are worried about the ga?

i really dont think they would do a GA if they didnt think it was safe as long as they know about the murmer then i would go ahead im sure everything will be fine if u have any worries contact the hospital and see what they say xxx
