I’ve been using a fetal Doppler about twice a week since I was ten weeks. With the exception of just a few times, I have found the heartbeat in the exact same place (although it’s moved upward a little bit as the baby grows) within about a minute. The heartbeat is nice and strong, and everything looked great at my 12 week scan—so is it normal to always find the heartbeat in the same spot? Does that mean the baby doesn’t move around much?

One of the baby books I'm reading says that all babies have a favorite position that they like to be in most the time. It's technically called a "lie". Anyway, they go flipping around and dancing all over the place, but when they're done, they like to get back into their favorite position where they're the most comfy. So, yep, that's totally normal.
