I had heartburn really bad last night for the first time - it came on minutes after eating our evening meal and was still there a good 2-3 hours later. I didn't have any gaviscon or similar, but after those 2-3 hours of it getting only very slowly better, I decided to eat a couple of digestive biscuits, and boom it went away just like that!
Apparently they have baking soda in which is thought to aid digestion, and me and OH also reckon that they probably soak up alot of the stomach acid that causes the problem
Also, they are made with whole wheat and in the UK at least don't have too much sugar in, so they're not too bad for you
I've heard they are hard to get hold of in the US, but if anyone in the UK (or if they do them in the US) fancies a natural remedy to heartburn, try digestive biscuits! I'm so happy I have a legit reason to eat biscuits now
