As soon as i hit 12 weeks pregnant and thought yes i made it, i started bleeding red blood. Then it started gushing out of me. I went to epu anbd they scanned me and baby was fine and moving around. The dr wanted to check my cervix so he told me to take my clothes off from waist down and as i took everything off, all this waterery blood just fell out of me and i got on the bed and it kept coming out. Well my cervix was closed but dr was concerned at how much blood i was losing.

I had to stay in overnight but it got lighter overnight till 5.30am when it gushed in the toilet. Well my blood has been brown ever since but i keep gushing brown blood in the toilet. Its nearly 2 weeks of bleeding now. I have a doppler and listen to babies heartbeat but im so worried

I had my 12 week scan and it said 'adnexa normal. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and i'm so scared that my body is trying to miscarry my baby.

I came back with a 1:51 chance of a downs syndrome baby but i want to keep my miracle without my body trying to miscarry. Anyone else go through this and have a happy ending????

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. The fact that you've seen baby and heartbeat is an extremely reassuring sign and presumably growth was on track ? Dd the medical team give you any clues as to where they thought it was coming from ? Take it very easy until you know for sure whats going on Hun. Thinking of you xxx

At 12 week scan, i was put a day ahead so i was 13 weeks instead of 12+6 so growth is great. no one has actually checked to see where its coming from

I'm sorry your going through this. I know its hard not to but please don't stress. Stress makes everything worse.

Are you still in regular contact with your midwife or consultant about the blood loss? Are they having you come in to have a follow-up scan? I would just make sure they stay on top of it, just in case there is a complication that needs to be dealt with.

But other than that, I would just try to take care of yourself, stay relaxed, rest, and try to keep positive. I had a very similar experience at 11 weeks - heavy gush of blood, bright red heavy bleeding like a period, followed by brown spotting for the next week. There was absolutely nothing wrong and it's likely I either broke a blood vessel on my cervix (totally harmless, but causes a lot of bleeding) or it was just my hormones being a bit weird as the placenta took over (VERY common at 10-14 weeks, also completely harmless). Neither of these are in any way related to MC and are perfectly normal. It's just one of those things that happens, but it's just really scary when it does as we're taught to believe than any heavy blood loss = a loss. But this just isn't true. 90% of women who bleed in 1st tri go on to have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. It's just one of those things.

I'd stay in touch with your midwife or doctor and make sure they are aware of what's happening and follow-up with you appropriately. But the great thing is, if you've had a scan and all was fine, then most likely the bleeding isn't anything to be worried about. So try to stay positive and have faith that it's all going to be fine. Despite all the bleeding I had, I had a perfectly healthy, normal pregnancy (no more bleeding ever after that week) and now I have a very healthy, cheeky 3 month old.

I rang up the Stanway ward where i was admitted nearly 2 weeks ago and they wont see me again unles i'm changing my pad every hour. I'm going to see if i can make an appointment with my midwife tomorrow and see what she says. The last scan i had was my dating scan on 21st may and everything was great and on track x

I gushed blood with my son around 12-13 weeks because my placenta was low and partially covering my cervix. This pregnancy i started bleeding at 13w3d and they are saying its a small tear in my placenta. I can't believe they didn't check your placenta thoroughly along with everything else to see what is happening. Good luck and keep us posted!

I am so sorry you are going through this. This happened to me with my little boy and turned out to be a sch. He was born at term without any problems. There is a support thread in the 'pregnancy complications' section. Xxx

But when i had my dating scan, it said 'Adnexa normal' which apparently means that no blood was found

I had this also. I bled so much one night I thought for sure it was over. It turned out to be a subchorionic hemorrhage which they say usually resolves at 20 weeks. Its a very scary thing to go through but the fact that you got a heartbeat is wonderful. I know its hard but try not to worry because I went through the same thing and so far everything is okay.

Oh also its important to know that with my subchorionic hemorrhage its not in my uterus where the baby is its above it

Hi mickellwife. Hope you are feeling better by now, it is very reassuring that your li'l one is doing well inside you. I hope you get regular scans or other checks to make sure all is progressing well. God bless you with a healthy n happy 9 months.

This happened to me, I hit 10 weeks and started bleeding which turned into gushing. The ER did a scan and baby was fine and doing flips in circles. I gushed blood up until 32 weeks and when I had stopped it was because my son was blocking it with his head. I had placenta abruption, it took 6 weeks for them to know because it started off with a small tear and just got bigger and bigger. He was born at 35 weeks and 5 days at 8 pounds and 3 ounces, very healthy. :) Have they tried to see if you have a tear or cut in your placenta? Maybe subchorionic hemorrhage.

Adnexa means appendice of an organ (so the tubes and ovaries). I'd suspect you have a subchorionic hematoma from what you've said, They are common and they suck, but in mnay cases, the bubba is fine (Dont look at me though, bub was born at 29 weeks from it...)

Kellymassage, a subchorionic hematoma is always in the uterus, it means between the sac and uterus wall. <3

Thanks. :) that's what I meant. It wasn't in the sac. Woops lol

They couldn't see anything on my scan until they looked very closely and even when they could see it it was only mms, but the blood was pouring down my legs (sorry tmi) I had many other scans and the could rarely see it! My friend also had one that didn't show up on scan, but presented in the same way. I hope everything is ok.

I bled 3 times so far and 2 of those times I kept lightly bleeding then spotting for 3 days each. The first two times I was told it was a subchrionic hematoma. Last time, a few days ago, the doc said that the placenta is low-lying. However, the good news is bubba has been fine so far.

Keep us posted and I hope things are ok with you.

I've had some bleeding this pregnancy but it's only been spotting (most recently at 14 weeks) but I was talking to my midwife about it and she was telling me about a lady that she was seeing a while back who had really heavy bleeding throughout most of her pregnancy. She said she was absolutely amazed with the amount of bleeding this lady had, that she went on to have a healthy baby. So it can happen. I hope it stops and being able to hear baby's heartbeat is definitely reassuring x

I had a scan yesterday to check where the bleeding was coming from and there was a bleed under 1cm under the baby which she said is nothing to worry about. My placenta is at the front and found out i'm having a little boy too :D xx
