I'm 30 years old and my husband and I had been TTC for 4 months when I got pregnant with our 1st. We were so excited, but sadly on 06-26-14 at only 5 1/2 weeks I had a natural mc. I did not have to have a D & C. Well I started my first AF since my mc a couple days ago. It started off with really light cramping and super light spotting. Well this morning I woke up to much heavier bleeding and really bad cramping. I normally have a couple days of heavier bleeding and pretty bad cramping the first day of my AF's, but this is a lot worse than normal. I have some medication left over that they gave me for my painful cramps while I was going through my mc and I had to take a couple during the day while at work and now this evening the cramping is worse than earlier. I took another pill for the pain about 10 minutes ago and I'm sitting here with a heating pad on my lower stomach. I have passed some clots. Nothing too big, just some small ones. I sometimes have a bit of clotting with my normal AF's. I just have never had a mc until last month and this is my first AF and I don't know what is normal and what is not. I would appreciate it if anyone had any knowledge or personal experience they could share with me. I would also love to hear what happened with TTC after a mc. My husband and I were told to wait until my AF started before trying again. So we will try again in a couple weeks to get pregnant again. I'm a bit scared of this happening again, but also positive knowing we can get pregnant. Please help me to understand what is normal and what I can expect. Thank you!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss hun. I'm not going to be much of help right now as I just got over bleeding from my D & C (lost baby at 9 weeks). But I was also interested in knowing this too.....

I'm so sorry for your loss as well staycb01. Was this your first pregnancy?

With my first and second miscarriage, my period was very heavy with sooo many clots and was more painful. Then I had a chemical and that didn't affect me at all for my next period.

Hi there. I started my first period 2 days ago after my miscarriage in June. And yes.... Very heavy bleeding and more cramping. My cramping isn't too bad but I never have cramps during AF. And this may be tmi but I was sitting down earlier tonight and bled so much it was covering the chair when I got up. :/ I think it's our bodies just adjusting. I didn't even bleed this much after having my children.

Thank you for sharing Kazy. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Today my AF seems to be lightening up a bit. I have passed a few clots today, but not changing a super tampon every 2 hours or less like yesterday. My cramping has been WAY better today. Pretty much like a normal AF now. How soon after your mc's did your doctor tell you ladies you could start ttc again?

My dr. Said to wait one full cycle. And even that is just so that you can date the pregnancy better. If there are no other health issues my understanding is that you can try right away.

That's what my doctor told me too Kazy. So we can start trying again in a little over a week. Have you heard that it's supposedly easier to get pregnant right after a mc?

I have heard that. I'm not sure what to think. I have 3 kids that I conceived all within my first cycle off of birth control. And now for whatever reason this time around has been not easy at all. I'm hopeful though. I know of 4-5 people who have had miscarriages before and all but one conceived within the first few months after. I am really trying hard to not calculate everything and stay positive believe if that we will be blessed soon!

Hi, my story is very similar to yours. I started trying in Feb2013 then got pregnant 4 months later, had a miscarriage at 7 weeks but didn't find out until 12 week scan I had an ERPC (like D&C) my periods started about 8 weeks later. I have never had such bad pain and heavy period with massive clots!!!! I was off work for a week. I've had 10 cycles since and my periods are not like they used to be, but I have had initial tests and I'm ovulating fine. but I'm coming up to the one year mark now as im still not pregnant I just turned 31, my husband is 33, I have an appointment with the fertility clinic on 7th October (exactly 13 cycles after my miscarriage) doctors keep telling me I'll get pregnant naturally as I did before - but I'm still here waiting for my good news after a year. I think your body needs time to get over the miscarriage, but you can try when ever you feel ready. Good luck and I'm sorry for your loss xxx

Kazy I hope you get your :bfp: real soon as well. I'm sending lots of :dust: your way. Stay positive!!

I am so sorry about your loss wantbabynow. :hugs: I can only imagine how frustrated and stressed you may be not being about to get pregnant again after a year of trying. :nope: Please let us know how your doctor's appointment goes. I wish you the best of luck and my thoughts and prayers are with you and hoping you get your :bfp: real soon. Even if there's something the doctor's need to do to help you. Keep us updated. :hugs:

I've read and heard from others that you are more fertile after a miscarriage - I'm not sure if that's true or not - but I'll let you know once we start trying :)
I have my follow up today for my D&C - started bleeding and passing a ton of clots yesterday and today and the nurse said that it's probably my period already.
We were told to wait 1-2 cycles - so we will wait after my period and try again....

Yeah my AF just ended yesterday evening. So we'll start trying again here soon. Hoping it's true about being more fertile after a mc. That would be nice. I hope it doesn't take forever to get another :bfp:.

When did you say you had your mc staycb01?
