Heidi Jayne entered the world on 24th November 2013, weighing 6lbs 3oz, 51cm long at 5:32am. She was born via EMCS after a long painful induction process.

i went to hospital on fri 22nd Nov for BP monitoring. It was really high and didnt come down so they admitted me for induction at 37+2.

They inserted the pessary at 2pm that day. I was 2cm dialated. i started having painful contractions by midnight that night, but they were manageable. i was still 2cm dilated when they took me to delivery suite to break my waters at 9pm sat night.

From then on, it was horrendous. I passed out having my waters broken, the comtractions came on so strong from having the drip.

i was on gas and air and after 6 hours of contraction 1min apart, i got pethidine. 4 hours later, i was in unbearable pain and only to find out I was still 2cm dilated. I was so so deflated, exhausted and in so much pain. My body just wasnt ready to give birth.

Heidi started to show signs of fetal distress and because I was showing no sign of progression, I was sent for an EMCS (lowest grade). I was put under GA as im unable to have the spinal block due to hughes syndrome.

The next I knew, i woke up, my baby girl was an hour old, sleeping in her daddys arms. Shes perfect.

My induction was horrible, but the section went smoothly and Im recovering well. Im happy with the decision made to have an EMCS and coping great after surgery. I had her Sunday and came home Tuesday.

I am so so in love with her :)
