Hi, this is my first post on this forum. I've been browsing for a while so am familiar with the different areas but I've only just become a member.
Myself and my husband have been trying to conceive since April 2008, and have had no luck so far. We have a good 'bedroom life' anyway, so haven't bothered with ovulation tests or anything as we always thought we were active enough to catch the right time without tests. However, we are now on about cycle 13/14 and have never had any signs of being pregnant - no particularly late periods or anything to get excited about.
From reading on here and on other websites I have read about 'EWCM', which I don't think I get much of so am wondering if that might be a problem.
Anyway, we have just started the process of having tests. I have had a blood test at the GP (on day 3 of my cycle) and will be going back for the next one later this month.
My husband has also been referred to the hospital to give a sample, and we are just waiting on an appointment.
I hope it's ok to join this board. I was going to post in the TTC section but after looking at a couple of posts in there it seemed to me that most people in there were on their second or third cycle of TTC and were already stressing about it and (no offence to any of them) I felt like I would feel out of place and worry even more about us having been trying for over a year. Please don't get me wrong anyone, I know that a lot of people in here have been trying for so much longer and have been through more than we have so far, but I just felt i was more suited to this section.
I hope I will be able to chat to people in here and share experiences as I feel quite lonely sometimes and worried about why we haven't conceived yet.
Oh and just in case anyone wants any more info, we have tried preseed (for about three cycles) but didn't have any luck with that. So we have now started trying a different lubricant called Zestica Fertility, and I have also just bought some instead cups as I'm considering giving them a try - am just trying to pluck up the courage!
