Hello Ladies I was just browsing when I saw the C-Section Forum, just popping in to say I had a Caesarean after a failed induction back in december 2012. I was absolutely terrified I had never had a major operation in my life and I though I was going to die. My C-section was performed at 11am and i didn't wake up properly until 2.30pm due to it being my first general anaesthetic. I am coming in to say although the aftermath is uncomfortable it was never really painful for me as they controlled the pain with painkillers, the midwives were brilliant and the most painful part was getting out of bed and standing up on the second day after that it was uncomfortable. Don't worry too much, they know what they are doing and midwives will help you knowing you can't lift things etc. My baby was 10lb at birth and was born on a Tuesday, by friday they let me come home and I was soon putting washing away etc. Your body knows your limits and will tell you when your doing too much. They have even said that if I have another child they will offer me a Vbac (vaginal birth after caesarean) but have also said I would have the option to elect for a Csection with my first baby being so big. I am 23 and was very very scared to have such a massive operation, but if it came down to it and my second was measured as big as the first I would elect in a heartbeat for the safety of my baby. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me x

Thanks for sharing. My first c section was traumatic but the recovery was ok but am preparing and hoping for a lovely planned section this time.
