Hi,

I'm Nik, 31 and DH is 26. We have been TTC for 14 months. I have regular periods but a short lp of on average 10 days.

We have just go back our 7dpo blood tests and SA results, see below, The Dr has asked for another set of bloods tests for me as my progesterone level was 25 at 8dpo, which he said was ok but a on the low side of ok.

He said we shouldn't have any problem conceiving naturally with the results we have but it's just taking time for it to happen. I really hope so.

SA results

Volume: 2.4ml
pH: 7.9
Count: 152million/ml
Total count : 365million
Viability: 17% dead sperm
Morphology: 13% normal forms
Abnormalities: Head and neck

Motility: 58% progressive motility
10% non progressive
32% immotile.

Welcome Nikki,
We're almost in the same boat, I'm 27, DH 28 - cycle 14,have regular cycles with 10-12 LP. 7dpo blood test came back fine, waiting on SA results. Good luck!!

Hello,

I hope it's a short visit but i know i need to lengthen my lp, as 10 days with spotting before isn't the greatest.

I'm looking into natural progesterone cream, but it's all confusing.

Nikki

Hi hun

I seem to remember reading on here that vit B12 I think, and possibly vit B6 are good for lengthening LP, but don't rely on me! Worth posting a thread somewhere specifically about lengthening LP if you haven't already or use the search feature on here.

Good luck x

Thanks Deb,

I've given in with Bvit complex it really did noting for me. I''ve tried B50 and B100 over about 5/6 months. I've given soy a go on 1 cycle and it delayed my OV by a week but i still had a 10 day LP.

I'm thinking progesterone cream couldn't do any harm at the moment, it's just there are so many different ones around.

Nikki

I am trying B6 for the first time this cycle since my last LP was only 10days, I also have always spotted before. I would give the progesterone cream a go - like you said can't hurt to try!

Hi!!

Sperm looks great! Were you certain that you were 7dpo when you had the test? My gp insisted I did the test at day 21 despite me saying I o'd later than that. Since I had irregular cycles and couldnt tell her in advance how long my cycle would be she said test on day 21 and see what the number was.

The first test I did I miraculously had a 28 day cycle so my progesterone level was fine at 40.7. But the second time it was only 12 but I knew I only o'd the day before. We repeated it when I was 5dpo and it was 35.

Hope that helps

Me again, just re-read your first post. If you only have a 10 day luteal phase then 7pdo may be at a point when your levels are falling. Your progesterone levels will peak midway between O and AF so for you it may be at 5dpo.

My doctor did insist that it should be cd12, i juts changed my appointment with the nurse when i knew i had ovulated. I had to go 8dpo as 7dpo was a Sunday.

I've ordered some progesterone cream but will try it next cycle, as i don't want it to falsely increase the my levels.

I did think about having bloods at 5dpo, but i know that my temps start to fall too quickly and that my progesterone levels must be a little low due to the spotting before AF.

I'm hoping that the cream will just give me those few extra days as i'm sure thats all we need.

Nikki

Hi Nikki :flower:

I too have spotting before AF - for about 4-5 days. I have a 12 day LP but always start the spotting at about 7/8dpo, which I'm sure isn't enought time for implantation. My FS doesn't seem concerned about it at all but I'm not so sure. I would really like to hear if the progesterone cream works for you. I've thought about it in the past but never gone so far as to get some.

Like you, I've been taking soy but it hasn't really sorted out the spotting. My FS did suggest maybe starting clomid to strengthen ov and maybe sort it out that way?

Please let me know what happens xxxxxx

Hi sounds like we're in a similar boat - waiting to hear how my blood tests went. DH has lived a pretty fun life (and not so fun events), and we have been told after his 2 SA's that it will 'be alot of work' to have it happen naturally.....know how it feels!

Hi Nik!
I'm new on here. Your story sounds very like mine. We've been ttc for 2 years, unexplained infertility so far. Had a lap and dye, and all the blood tests going (except AMH), my oh is fine and dandy though he's just submitted another semenanalysis. We have our first fertility clinic appt next week. I have lpd as well - it seems about 8 to 10 days. 100mg B6 complex gave me an extra day. Not enough to help, but lovely skin now!

Good luck to you - I hope it happens for you soon.

Xxx

Oh - meant to say I'd read about progesterone cream, and apparently it's not strong enough to affect your lp. It's for hormone replacement at menopause. It seems you would need suppositories or oral meds to give you the dose required to make a difference. I'm hoping for some asap from the good ole nhs.

The cream arrived today but i'm already 6dpo. I'm going to give it a shot and see if it helps.

Got my 2nd blood test on Thursday which will be 8dpo again. In a way I hope it comes back lower again so they might do something to help.

Nikki
