Hi girls!

Thought I would stop by and say hello, I'm 35 and pregnant with baby #1! It's nice to know that there are other ladies who have not had kids yet, or who are having another, I was feeling kind of old to be starting a family, I can't help worrying about how old I will be when it's time for university or grandkids. Some of the other forums on here are great, but it's harder to relate to 20-year-olds! I don't think I could have handled this when I was 20, I still have "OMG can I do this?" moments.

Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you all! :flower:

Bye for now!

Deb

Welcome. I was 36 with my first and am 39 with #2. I personally would not have wanted a child in my 20's. I was far too busy experiencing life and figuring out what I wanted to do with myself and how to make enough money to keep myself fed. I love being an 'older' mom. I feel like I can offer so much more now and that I'm more emotionally stable as well as financially.
When are you due?

Thanks! I'm due Oct 30, so just on the edge of third trimester. I haven't figured out how to do those cute counter things, I see it's still early days for your LO #2? Your little man is very handsome!

I agree with you completely about being able to give more now than earlier in life! Plus the experiences of moving out and living independently and going to school, all those were things that I enjoyed immensely and wouldn't change, even when I was dirt poor, living in crappy apartments with weird roommates and partying way too much! It's a massive life change, isn't it? It hit me pretty hard this past weekend, we got our crib set up and imagining a wee baby in there, well I just started to cry. Frigging hormones. It's one thing to hear about all the weird things that happen during pregnancy, but another thing entirely to experience them!

Hi Doodlebop!
I am 38 and on number 4. I started at 29 which was old by today's standards! My parent's were much older than my friend's parents as I was from a second marriage but I didn't feel like I missed out on things growing up.
Good luck with number 1. Hormones can be tricky things! Keep smiling!

Hi, congratulations on your BFP! I remember thinking my mum was old having me and my twin sister at 35 and lo and behold I am 37 and expecting my first! :cloud9:
Of course, I was secretly hoping for twins (I'm not) but now I am quite happy hatching one. Good luck in your third tri.
If you want to add your own signature thingy, click on the style you like from someone else's post. This will take you to a "ticker website" so you can create your own. Once you have done your own, copy and paste the text in the box saying "bb code" and add it to your own signature on the my account section.

Hi Doodlebop,
I am 36 years young and also expecting #1. Our EDD's aren't far off! My little girl is Due November 3rd!

I so agree with Seity - I think now that I'm older I have so much more to offer my little one! When I was younger I think I would have been too young and selfish to be a good mom. In some ways I am so glad I only got the opportunity to start my family now.

Doodlebop...
Hi, welcome! I'm 36, pregnant with my first.

My midwife smiled at DH and I last appointment and said "I love working with mature parents." We keep giggling about being apparently "mature". LOL, news to us!

This has been a major life-stage shift for both of us. I am glad gestation takes so long. We are very, very happy about the pregnancy but the transition is such a big deal, I think, for people that lived unencumbered for so many years. It's very easy for the hormonal me to find it overwhelming from time to time.

Welcome and congrats . Important having my third at 38 nearly 39. I had my first at 30 and my second at 36. x

I'm also 36 and a FTM! Can I ask y'all the very personal questions: 1. How many more do you plan to have. And, 2. How old is your DH?

Hi Cececo -
I'm planning on having just one more after this one and my DF is 37.

I'm also 36 and a FTM! Can I ask y'all the very personal questions: 1. How many more do you plan to have. And, 2. How old is your DH?

We're hoping to have two or three... DH is a tad younger, turning 34 in a couple of weeks.

Welcome to over 35! :)
Lots of nice people around here!
My OH < and I hope to have two or three. If we end up with just this one biologically we'll just adopt ;) This one took more than 2 years to make.
