Hi ladies,

Went to the hospital for a follow up scan today to check that my miscarriage was complete. Before I went, I did a test and I'm still getting a BFP. Started bleeding on 23/05 and its nearly finished now on 02/06... Do we have to wait until we get a BFN before trying again, or can we still start trying even with a BFP???

hi there I was told to test four weeks after but I had a d and c I guess you try whenever you want but for dating purposes they tell you to wait I say go for it xx

You can start trying once the bleeding stops. Like Kelly said they tell you to wait after first AF for dating purposes but there's no additional risk.

What if the bleeding stops but I'm still getting BFPs? Will I ovulate?

that's the same as me I had a d and c two weeks ago and still getting really dark preggo tests just meand that the hcg hormones are still in your body you will ovulate once you get a negative test xxx

You'll keep getting bfps until your hCG drops back down and that can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. For me, it's taken 2-3 weeks before I get a bfn on an hpt or for my blood tests to go back to 0 and then AF shows 3-4 weeks after that. But, as someone else pointed out, unless your doctor gave you a specific reason to hold off on ttc, then really you can start as soon as the bleeding is done. (You don't want to start before then as you risk getting an infection.) I never worried about it as I figured I had an anovulatory cycle until AF showed the first time but I unexpectedly got pg just 3 weeks after my last miscarriage. I will say getting pregnant that fast added a whole new level of anxiety to my first trimester. (I have a history of m/c already so I pretty much don't breathe until 20 weeks as it is.) But it's possible to get pg quickly and have a happy outcome.

Thanks for your post dairymomma... Got a bfn this morning... For once I was so happy about that! Bleeding nearly stopped now but will leave it a few days to make sure... Then hubby will be held captive until the next BFP but he won't complain :)
