HELP! Brown Mucus blob and strange smells..

HI Ladies, I haven't been on B&B for a few years, gave up trying....
Just need some advice...
Either I am a raving lunatic or ....?

I have very regular cycles 26 days. I haven't charted in years but guess I 'O' around day 10 or 11.
The other day at work when I went to the loo there was this large mucus plug, tinged brown. It looked like the plug you loose just before giving birth, but less thick? I remember thinking, that was very strange..... then later that day I started thinking I could smell a very strange chemical. Now I work in a printers, there are always chemical smells coming from the workshop... I asked my co-workers if they could smell it? NO!

It's been 5 days now, and I can still smell it, at home, in the car, shops, everywhere....

Now this is the odd thing, this smell has happened before, but only when I just found out I was pregnant! But never before finding out....

I looked back and realised the mucus and smell started around 5/6dpo.... Now I did BD 4/5 before my possible 'O'

So 2 questions

1, the brown tinged mucus blob

&

2, Strange chemical smell (smells a bit like car exhausts!)

Any Light?

Any thoughts?

Am I clutching at straws at my age?

Thanks for the message, I tested at 12 dpo, BFN... Still, have the taste and smell though... AF due in 2 days.....
