My daughter is showing an interest in dolls. She likes that she can rock them, and pretend to feed them bottles, etc.

I just need some help choosing a doll to buy for her; she doesn't yet have one. Price isn't a factor for me, but I suppose it's good to keep in mind that this is for a very young toddler.

What do you think would be a good doll for an 18 month old? She's not very destructive, and is quite gentle for a toddler. She's never really ruined anything (yet :haha:).

I would like one that I can buy a crib and/or accessories for because she likes pretending to do "adult" things.

She picked up a stuffed bear today and I found her singing to it and feeding it her cracker, saying "Eat food... yummmmy! Here you go, more cracker!" So I know she'd get good fun out of "caring" for a doll!

Thanks! :flower:

I would just find one that's got a soft body (and head?)- my LO LOVES to snuggle. So she still enjoys her "buddies"- i.e. soft dolls, animals, toys. She's still not huge on dolls- per say- but the ones she does like have soft bodies she can snuggle. Then there are loads of accessories you can buy for any doll really. I don't know of a specific brand off hand- but we just got her some stuff at our local Target store :)

Sophie has a soft 'ragdoll' type one that she named LuLu. She didn't like the hard headed dolls.

She picked out a little purple stroller for Lulu the other day. Amazes me how she goes for the 'girls' toys with no prompting as we have never encouraged gener bias towards towards the kids.

My daughter just got a La Newborn doll. It's hard plastic (she only really cuddles one or two specific toys, so we picked one that she could bathe) and very realistic looking. I really like it but it doesn't 'do' anything like some of the other popular brands. It came with a few accessories but has also been compatible with the generic pushchair/moses basket etc we got.

Oh and ours is an anatomically correct boy, which might be a plus or a minus for you.

Baby Annabelle my first doll. I got that for my lo at that age. It was about £15, its a proper doll with soft body. It was perfect size, lo still loves it. You can buy cheap doll bottles in tescos, lo has wooden doll cot, a pram from Argos, push chair from tesco and a doll high chair to go with hers. It is easy to find extras

We went for hard body too as DD likes to take it in the bath. (She also cuddles hard toys - wanted to take a spade to bed the other night! )
Just went for a cheap one from B&M bargains as it came with potty, nappy, top, towel and bottle.
Accessories like pram you can pick up for really cheap.

She also has soft dolls with plastic faces that she likes ok, none were very expensive. Just from supermarkets like tesco or Asda.

Phoebe has a Stella doll and loves it.
