Hi

Just hoping someone can reassure me??? I am 20 weeks today and have been really dry since I got pregnant, uncomfortably so sometimes.

However I just went to the loo and wiped and loads of thick clear egg white type stuff was on the tissue. I wiped again and more came away. Wiped a third time and had a bit of a prod and seems its all stopped/gone. It was like the fertile cm you get when TTC. But I have been sooooooo dry until now. Hubby and I dtd on sunday night and because I am so dry it has been taking longer to come out (TMI SORRY!!) but could it have been that??? Or just normal mucous?

I am worried it might have been the pulg???? I don't have any pains or tightenings and baby is kicking??

I don't really want to start calling midwife over every little thing either.

Can anyone help?

Apparently, you do get more discharge when pregnant - the plug is normally green jelly stuff BUT, just because your plug falls out doesn't mean you're going to have your baby it can replenish itself and keep doing so. I think I started losing my plug at 30 weeks with my first and I didn't have him until 39+3 :)

If you are really worried call your midwife but, I think it's completely normal :)

Edit: Found this on babycentre :)

When should I call my caregiver?
If there's a lot of thin, clear discharge, it can be hard for you to tell if it's just mucus or if you're leaking amniotic fluid. If you have any doubt, contact your midwife or doctor.

Call your practitioner right away if you're not yet at 37 weeks and you notice an increase in discharge or a change in the type of discharge (if it becomes watery, mucus-like, or bloody – even if it's just tinged with pink or brownish old blood). This can be a sign of preterm labor.

You should also call your caregiver if you suspect that you have an infection. If you have an odorless, whitish discharge that's causing you discomfort such as pain with urination or intercourse, soreness, itching, or burning – or your vulva looks inflamed – you might have a yeast infection.

If you notice a thin white or gray discharge with a fishy smell after sex (when the discharge mixes with semen), you may have a different kind of vaginal infection called bacterial vaginosis.

If your discharge is yellow or green and frothy with an unpleasant odor, you may have trichomoniasis, a common sexually transmitted infection. Other possible symptoms of trichomoniasis (or trich) include a red, irritated, or itchy vulva or vagina and discomfort while urinating or during intercourse.

If your discharge is foul-smelling or frothy or yellow, green, or gray, you might have a different kind of vaginal infection or a sexually transmitted infection, even if you don't have symptoms of irritation, itching, or burning.

In any case, if you think you have an infection, don't try to treat yourself with over-the-counter medications. The symptoms aren't always easy to distinguish, so it's important to first see your practitioner for a diagnosis to make sure you get appropriate treatment.

Honey, first don't worry but if you have been really dry up until now.

i would get it checked out with your midwife regardless of there being other symptoms or not.

It is probably nothing to worry about but its reassurance your after and the best safest thing to do is to give her a call!

If you can't get in touch with her ring NHS Direct 0845 46 47 if your UK.

Or on your green notes you should have a triage number/labour ward give them a call go through whats been happening and the sex the other night too.

I really don't want to worry you i just want you and your baby to be safe. Like i said it may be nothing but its better be safe than sorry xo xo R.

I would hazard a guess that it was something to do with you and husband DTD on Sunday. I had something similar the day after me and OH did it, like you said it might have just taken a while to come out!

I had the same thing happen to me a day after dtd
