Hi everyone,
I have a question about cramping...I normally don't get cramps until 2-3 days before AF but have had them 7 days before AF is due this cycle. I have done a test today and it is neg (boo) and I am concerned about early PMS cramps being a barrier to conceiving. Over the last few months my PMS seems to be getting worse and worse and starting earlier each time and I am worried that if I start having AF cramps this early then how will it ever work?! I have a 28 day cycle (so ov around day 14) and have been ttc for 8 months.
Any help / advice much appreciated! x

you may also be cramping because you may have concieved, a very common symptom!!. good luck!!

Yup, I had TONS of cramping when I concieved. I was stressing out because my temps had dropped and it felt like AF was coming and was upset because it was too early for it to show.

Hope its a great sign for you!!!

If its not pregnancy.. there is a slight chance it could be a sign of cysts or fibroids so if you're not pregnant, maybe schedule an appointment (AF would be more painful when it comes too).
But for now, I wouldn't worry as it might be a likely sign of a baby in there!!

I normally cramp 2 days before AF, but the month I got my BFP I started cramping earlier. Sadly it later ended in a MC for me though. Hope you get your BFP and sticky bean! You didn't say what DPO you are? xx

I think as other ladies have said its a common early PG symptom. I'm only on 6 DPO today and I've been cramping already, weird, my AF is due next wednesday so a week from now (too early to be having AF cramps). Here's hoping its a good sign for both of us!! Lots of :dust: to you!

Hiya, sadly the pregnancy ended for me quite early, but I started cramping about six days after ovulation when I got a positive on a pregnancy test - the cramps were a bit different to pms, they were more in my lower back. So if they feel different then it could definitely be a good sign you have conceived, fingers x for you

I always cramp about a week before my AF. To tell you the truth, i also havent always been like that. I am now though. Things can change. Even if you are cramping, it doesnt mean it will have any effect on you conceiving..how can it when clearly you will have ovulated and Af will be gearing up.
It could be that you are pregnant as cramps are really common esp 7 days before AF as that is around the time the embryo would implant..but i wouldnt imagine that your cramping wouldnt have any effect on your fertility or chances..since it is too late so to speak and would occur after ovulation..either way.

it sounds pretty good! i often hear of AF like cramping before a BFP. dont stress about a neg HPT its still waayy early. Good luck!!

:dust:

Ive also been having this, never had AF cramps before untill coming off the pill, now every cycle they come in the week leading up to AF. Does get your hopes up tho boo

Thanks for all your lovely replies...AF showed in the end. PMS seems to be starting earlier and earlier each month which is HORRID!
xx

hi ladies,im new here and quiet worried. i am currently ttc, i am on cd17, i had cramping yesterday and pretty bad today. worse than af pains ever were. i think i ov'd friday. so it would be much too early for implantation i think? af isnt due till the 24th so its def. not that. someone said something about fibroids and cysts. the pain was really bad. the only comforable position were on all fours!! now im worried?? what could it be?
(sorry to OP for gate crashing your thread!)

if its bad enough that you have to get on all fours, you should definitely see a doctor. It might be simple or nothing... but if you leave some of that stuff unchecked it can cause problems.

thanks lisaf! will make an appointment for tomor. i hope its nothing serious. i see on your profile you are expecting! congrats!
not too bad now just my back is aching. thanks for the advice.

yeah, it could be a cyst or fibroid that causes severe cramps. Most cysts are harmless, but if it twists, you can actually lose an ovary... so better safe than sorry and get that stuff checked out!!! :hugs:

(and thanks!)
