:dohh:

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge, at the risk of sounding stupid can I ask what the difference is between:

body suits (what are these for? Do you put clothes over them?) I take it long sleeve for winter, short sleeve for summer?

Sleepsuits - I guess the clue is in the name, are they for sleeping in? Would you put pjs over these? Do babys even wear pjs?

rompers - just look like body suits what are these for?

vests - is it a vest with a body suit over then an outfit over that? Or a vest a nappy then clothes over them?

Anyone want to make me feel normal and tell me they had the same dillema? Or is it just me?

I would love to know this too! I mean babies sleep most of the time, why is there a distinction between sleepsuits and non sleep suits? Is it just to add variety?

It really depends on where you live as to what you hear them called.

Lau86 - Glad im not alone! Just saw your comment on katerdids's post regarding these to, hopefully we will be enlightened shortly.:haha:

ive been confused about the same things too! is sleepsuits the same as babygrows? they look the same as babygrows! and if thats the case, cant babies wear babygrows all da time if u want them to? its all confusing lolol. x

Hi yes baby grows and sleep suites are same thing
Romper suits at sleep suits without feet covers

Vests are well jut vests Thaat popper under nappy u then put sleep suit or romper or baby cloth on toP

Ie if ur having a winter baby I'n cold u would pu I'n ie nappy vest babygrow then cardi for walm and coat keeps walm on winter days usually won't need romper ie footless ones I'n winter as u would need baby feet covers all the time where as I'n summer rompers are good hope i helped a bit xxx

I think of bodysuits as onesies. Just like a t-shirt either long or short sleeved but with snaps at the crotch. The sleep suits, I am guessing are either feetie PJ's that zip or button up through the leg and up to the chest or the sleep sacks that look like baby is in a sleeping bag(to keep baby warm at night without using a blanket). Rompers are like bodysuits but usually are the entire outfit like for summer, except that they are like shorts usually. I love rompers on little girls. Vests I have no idea! I think is a UK thing, because when I think of vests I think of sleeveless tops that go over a like a nice button up shirt for boys.

Hi
Yes this is confusing this it what you will need

the vests are the ones that come with short or long sleeve and dont have legs just press stud under the nappy, these are worn by baby at all times under clothes and at night unless of course you live somewhere really hot.

the sleep suits are just either the baby grows which are like the vests but have legs or rompers have shorter legs so again these are worn at night so just to keep the sleeping suits seperate to day although they are the same. And depending on heat rompers or baby grows

then baby grows for day are the same as the ones for night but what they wear in the day when they are just born for a couple of months. when you dont put them in proper clothes x

thanks for the post! I am also slightly confused, especially that some vests have sleeves, some haven't. Do babies always have to have a vest underneath a babygro/sleepsuit?
If it's hot, can't they just sleep in vest?

CONFUSED!!:dohh:

if it is hot they can just wear baby grows, but there is a rule you follow for how many layers for what temp you should be able to find this online, then you count say the vest then the baby grown then sheet etc etc.

if your room is 16 - 20 at night then they will need the vest and baby grow then one light blanket, you can then loose as it gets warmer.

i was also told by midwife that babies will cry if they are cold but they wont if they get too warm xx
