Hubby made Annabel Karmels chicken with parsnip and beans today. He cooked the chicken (it was fresh, uncooked), cooked the veg and then pureed them together , waited for them to cool then put them in the freezer.

However, re-reading the recipe it says "do not puree the chicken with the vegetables until they are cold, it is important to avoid warming the chicken" We're panicking now, and I can't figure whether it's ok, cos the recipe states cooked boneless chicken-maybe assuming that it's already cold, which our chicken wasn't?- or whether we should just chuck it all?

You should only ever heat chicken (or anything for that matter) twice. So cooking it from raw is the first time. When you blend the chicken and veggies they need to be the same temp as each other - either both hot or both cold - then nothing is being heated up. You will need to reheat it when you use it, so that is your second cooking.

So, if they weren't the same temp when blending, chuck it in the bin. It's not worth the risk of food poisoning.

I personally reheat chicken multiple times and have never been sick once. I honestly couldn't afford to waste good food by chucking it, but that's just me.

Thanks guys. I chucked it anyway, just wouldn't feel happy taking the risk x

oh gawd I have never been that fastidious abotu counting the times I reheat eekkkk

I cant believe you chucked it!!!

So the chicken was cooked, the vegs were cooked and then they were pureed and frozen - you did it exactly right!:flower:
