Hello thank you for opening,
This is complicated I'll keep it brief. I had a blood test and it came back positive for HSV 2 the Dr said that I dont have it now but I've had it in the past
To my knowledge I have never had an outbreak or anything down there.

But I have had whitlow (herpes on the finger) for 10 years

My Dr wants me to do a C-section to be safe im hesitant because , I have never had an outbreak down there before and neither has my ex-husband nor my current boyfriend.

But then I hear about women who never knew they had it and pass it on to their babies Im so scared I asked for supresive therapy but the DR refused that

Im already 38 weeks and dont know what to do ??

I'll take any advice I can get, im in mexico so excuse my english.

I don't know much about it but I thought you might find this link helpful, it seems to have good information:

Personally I wouldn't get the c-section just because your doctor says to. I'd want to get a second opinion and do lots of research. You might decide a cs is the best idea in your situation but if you decide you are not happy with that it is your choice.

Hi,

I am positive for HSV-2 as well. I delivered vaginally with no complications. The only time my doctor said I would need a c-section were if I had an active outbreak (lesions in the vaginal area). To prevent an outbreak, my doctor had me take Valtrex starting at 36 weeks to suppress the virus.

Hope this helps a little :flower:
