HELP!! LO has dropped to 4 feeds in 24 hours!

I just wondering if i could get some advise.

Oliver has dropped another feed! So now he is taking 7oz 4 times aday and then sleeping through the night.

Im worried his not getting enough... or is it normal for babies to drop extra feeds if they dont need them?

Does he drain the bottles? If so he's taking 28oz per day, I'd say that's pretty good hun Dont look at how many bottles he's having but how many ounces per day he's taking instead.
Evie's always taken 25-30 oz per day, but it used to be in 5 6oz bottles. Now she has 4 7oz bottles a day altho we've just upped that to 8oz. She seems hungrier since we started weaning her!

Just to add, if you're concerned in any way tho, have a chat with your HV to ease your mind

He is draining the bottles. I just thought he should still be having 5 feeds per day as he is only 10 weeks. Its the HV giving me silly advise i think!!

See i never know how much milk a baby should be taking a day!

ETA: I can not get hold of my HV lol!! I will try again tomorrow tho x

If he is draining the bottles perhaps put them upto 8oz to see if he'll take anymore? It's not an issue that he only has 4 bottles per day though. xx

how much does he weight? 27 oz seems a great amount. My baby has between 25-30 oz. She is 10 weeks and has slept through since 6 weeks. She went to 4 feeds. So i went to feeding her every 3 hours rather than 4 hours. When she 1st dropped a feed in the night i started waking her up for it and she used to have one mouthful and fall asleep. So i didnt see a point in it. She is gaining weight well.To me thats the most important

i would up his bottles to 8oz bottles.
dont worry hunni my little girl did the same and i panicked as well.
she dropped to 4x 8oz bottles around your lo's age and she still takes the same
as long as hes still thriving and putting on weight

alice only has 4 6oz bottles from 8-15 weeks she was having 4 5oz bottles. sometimes she only has 3 bottles in a day. she was putting enough weight on so i dot worry about it xxx

Last time i got him weighed he weighed 12lb that was at 8 weeks. I might pop into the clinic on tuesday and see what he weighs now. He isnt screaming for food and seems fine.
We have gone to feeding him every 3 hours rather than every 4 like we used to.

watch you dont end up over feeding the wee guy lol. i did that at one point my lo is a big baby.

He has never really been fed on demand (i know im a bad mummy)

He was following the 50th centile line perfectly when i last got him weighed so i will see if he has jumped or anything next time i get him weighed

Get him weight this week and go either next week or week after. You will soon see if he is still gaining weight. I did this when kacey did it and she is putting on weight the same as before. I always get her weighted of im worried.

well i have just been speaking to my OH and he was the one that told me oliver had gone down to 4 bottles... but he didnt count the first bottle of the day :doh: So he is having around 34ish ounces aday lol x

Babies are all different and will take different amounts.

I am sure all is fine if LO is happy enough etc

My Anna takes 5 feeds a day - of around 5/6 oz a time - so on average really about 27oz a day and she is over 4 months. She has been on this amount for the last 6 weeks or so and there is no sign of her wanting more. She is gaining weight as she should so its not a problem.

My baby is 6weeks today and he's having 7oz now, not sure if thats ok or too much?he had his feed at half 9 last night then woke up at half 4 this morning for anouther.hes more regular like every 4hours during the day though so... ? any one no i this is ok? x x thanks

The recommended amount for 6 wk old is about 25oz a day- my Anna never took as much as that -she would take around 20oz at that age.

If your LO is having 7oz bottles -5 or 6 times a day?- that does sound like a lot. Is he draining all the bottles? If he is and he is not coughing up a lot afterwards then he must be needing it so dont worry

ollie is only having around 25oz a day and hes 20 weeks but he was only 4lb 14 so is only about 12 1/2lb now and he's slept through since 12 weeks, every baby is different and as long as they're happy and gaining weight don't worry.

Omar was taking 4 feeds 6-7 oz per day @ 12 wks. He was 13 lbs @ 8 wks & 17 lbs @ 4 mnths. He is on the. 82 nd percentile, & maintained it after dropping a bottle
