Help! Missed period (BFN) - when can I start injectable cycle?

My period always comes every 27-28 days, but this cycle I had my usual pre-AF spotting and then nothing. Never turned into flow and now I'm on day 31.

Of course, this was supposed to be the cycle we were starting injectables! I was instructed to call the day my cycle started, but what if it never starts? Maybe I didn't ovulate? Will they make me wait until next month? We already sat out last month due to a cyst.:nope:

I just wanted to drop in and say hi! I actually stumbled across your blog while doing a google search for infertility blogs a few weeks ago when I was feeling particularly down, drinking (too much) wine, and hubs was out at game night with the guys. I'm sure that most of us on a LTTTC board have been there (or at least I hope I'm not alone).

Anyway, I wondered if your period ever came and how you're doing. Also, I can't wait to hear more about your potential puppy. Beagles are my second favorite dog! :)

Hey there! Thanks for the comment. And you're sooo not alone - I've spent more evenings than I care to admit parked in front of my laptop, semi-drunkenly Googling all things infertility.

I took a peek at your journal and our situations sound pretty similar. Even with insurance I probably spent thousands on birth control over the years...ha, what a waste. (I actually have a retroverted uterus too, but have been told it's normal. I wonder if a disproportionate number of younger women w/DOR have them?)

I did thankfully end up getting my period (with a vengeance) early Sunday and was able to have the US and get approved for injectables, which is exciting but also terrifying due to cost and high potential for failure. On the beagle front, still haven't heard anything, but we're hopeful!

I'm definitely excited to hear about your injectible cycle! Other than cost and potential for failure, one of the biggest reasons that I opted against that treatment recommendation is that I really didn't feel like dragging myself to the RE's office every day for like two straight weeks for ultrasounds and bloodwork. I know that sounds lazy, but it's a lot for me to manage.

Oh, and feel free to join in on the madness that is my journal. We're a bit of a sarcastic, humorous, foul mouthed, non-PC group.

Ha, that's not lazy - just realistic. I can already tell juggling the injectables with our busy schedule is going to be, um, a challenge. Shots have to happen at the same time every evening and, even though the plan was for hubs to give them, he was stuck in a meeting the first night so I just sucked it up and did it. Next night, I scrambled to get it done before an event we had. This weekend, we're staying with family (not sure where I'll give myself the shot?!) and popping in the RE's for an US on the way down.

I don't mean to complain - I realize it's totally my choice to do this - but it is definitely a big commitment. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time.

Oh, and thanks for the journal invite! I'll have to stop by and join in the fun. ;-)

Complain away! Infertility sucks. Infertility treatment sucks. Good people who want to be parents should be able to have babies.

Honest to god, the deciding factor for us to not go the injectibles route (above cost and potential for it to be unsuccessful) was the simple fact that the schedule was just more then we could handle. You and your husband are badasses to even attempt this! :)
