I have a Medela mini electric and it has just stopped working! It has no suction at all. I have changed the batteries, the little white flappy valve thing, the bottle and checked all the seals.
Please help me, I love this pump!!!

awwww no, cant u phone them ? is there a helpline or anything ? sry im not much help x

maybe the batteries are bad, did u try plugging it directly into electricity if you have that option on the mini one

Does it sound like it's sucking? I mean is there a motor or something that sounds like it's working normally? Even when all the seals etc. were find on my Avent one I'd sometimes have to hold the white plug in underneath (not sure if it's similar to your 'white flappy valve thing') with a finger just until the milk started coming through or there was no suction - as soon as there was a tiny bit of milk in it it was fine x

I loved mine and it jacked in too Kat :( Usually it was the valve or flappy jobby not quite on right. I decided to treat myself to a swing then when it arrived the new value got the mini going! :dohh:

There's a website for spares called express yourself mums I think....I'll check.

I got the Swing second hand off Ebay and bought a new shield from that website and Kat believe me, I fell in love all over again!

Thanks hun, but I got it from a friend, so no receipt etc.
We are both well thanks - Oliver is as scrummy as ever! Hope you're both well too. And thanks for missing me!

Kat! Have you checked that you have put the white valve thing in the right way? I have a hand pump and my MIL washed it one day and it totally lost suction. It ended up that she had put in the valve in the wrong way.

Thanks hun. I'll get hubby to look at it this evening and get some spares if I need to. Can't believe it's broken . Oliver thought all his christmases had come at once though - 2 full boobies to chomp on for breakfast!!!

mine stopped working at the hospital, i just took all the peices that can come apart and cleaned them then carfully put the back together and bam it worked again....... so maybe that and mine is a manual electrical and battery i find the batteries dont get the right suction..... so try the plug if u have it and if not try the manual and f nothin works call them and give them a peice of ur mind ahahah good luck

I've now bought two of these and both have stopped working within minutes....as soon as i put it on maximum the motor dies, with my boob stuck in it! I've tried taking it back to mothercare, first time was fine. Tried with the replacement yesterday and after a long argument with the manager, told her i'd show her it didn't work (they didn't believe me after testing it on their hands...). And guess what - after me crouching in corner of shop to prove them wrong, the bloody thing only went and worked again!!!

And then i get it home, try it again and NADA!!! I am SOOO frustrated.

And the silly thing is i am borrowing a friend's old one and it's brilliant. Just seems i can't seem to buy my own new one. It's so annoying. I'm going to try to return it again this week.... when i've calmed down....

Have you checked the mains adapter? I got mine snagged in my recliner and it would stop intermitently.

mains adapter seems fine. Brand new, intact and plugged into the nearest mains that work for other things ok. At a bit of a loss. And it's not like they're cheap!
