I posted in the ttc forum and haven't had much luck really so i was hoping you ladies in here might know more about this sort of thing.
This is my partners sperm results and we haven't got a clue what they mean.
We have to wait till next Wednesday to go back to the doctors to discuss them so if there is any one on here who understands please please reply.
Right so i'm going to put exactly what is on the letter in the right order.

Abstinence :2 days
viscosity: liquid
ph:8.1
volume:1.8ml
total count : 82.5 x 10^9/L
rapid motility : 44%
sluggish motility :2%
non-progressive motility : 3%
immotile : 51%
normal forms:2%

normal values:
volume :1-5ml
total count >20 x 10^9/L
p.h :7-8
rapid plus sluggish motility :>50%

Report comment: will be filed as : 41z..00 lab.
+ round cells present

That is exactly what it says on the letter PLEASE HELP going a bit crazy not knowing what it means!!! x

the motility is ever so slightly on the low side and the morphology is low, the count however is brilliant ! :flower: the ph is marginally high but i'm not sure how much effect that has

I agree. The WHO guidelines say that a morphology (your report says "normal forms") of 4% or higher is fine and your DH had 2%. But his count is excellent and can make up for that. He had a total count of 82.5 million. So 2% of 82.5 million is still 1.65 million, which is much better then someone with a lower count would have. I also don't know how the slightly elevated pH would affect the results, but it's only 0.1 over so I wouldn't worry.

They beat me to it, telling you what it actually SAYS...but I agree, it doesn't seem too bad. :) I personally, don't think the PH is something to worry about. It's not wildly off either way, so I think it's fine.

The count IS great. :) Pat your man on the back for that one. rofl. ;)

Thanks LOL got doctors 9am this morning so i will report back when i have more news xx

well back from the doctors, they said o/hs sperm results are normal so that's great, my blood test results came back normal except the ratio between lh/fsh was completely off but she said that's to be expected with pcos,( annoyed that i didn't ask for the results so i could see myself ) now she has referred us to a f/s, had to book an appointment for them to view our results, which is on the 20th January, So not to long away but then after they have viewed them we will have to wait for them to send us out an appointment and the doctor was not sure on how long the waiting list is here,

Had a letter from the f/s at the hospital today much sooner than i thought! so excited about that, o/h has to do a repeat sperm analysis and i have to have my bloods taken again then they will arrange an appointment to see us. o/hs sperm analysis is 25th jan and my blood tests are on thursday should have both the results back by 31st jan, and then all we have to do is wait for our first appointment :D
