Help please 5yr old looks yellow

I have posted this in kids section as well but thought I might get a quicker response in here as I'm worried.

I noticed jack look a bit yellow yesterday my dad said he was quiet at his house and he said he had germs in his tummy but he hasn't been poorly and is his usual active self.

I've just checked on him and called his dad up and he agrees he looks yellow.

What does this mean?? Should I take him to doctors tomorrow xx

i would take him to the docs yes, Probably nothing but he may have a tummy bug. As a child i always went a bit yellow when i got a bad tummy bug, thats how my mum would know if i was really ill or faking it haha

Thank u for replying I think I panicked cos I looked on google and it came up with liver problems and god knows what else.

Definitely take him to the docs, ring the NHS line (if your from the UK) & ask them for more advice or go to the emergency docs. Definitely can't be a good thing him turning yellow, better to be safe than sorry right?

I would definitely go to the doctor. My first thought is the liver. Is the white of his eyes yellow too?

The whites of his eyes look normal.

If the whites of his eyes are ok, that would reassure me a little! When my lo had a bad tummy she went a yellowy colour, scared the life out of me as the first thing i though was omg its her liver. Get him checked out to put your mind at rest

i agree take him to the drs - liver is the first thing that i thought but its a good sign if his eyes are not yellow x

I get yellow when I am really anaemic, my doctor says it is basically that my skin has become see through because my blood is so thin and that you can see my fat (that every body has under their skin) through. Kinda and yet cool at the same time. My eyes stay white, look inside his eyelids (bottom ones pull them down) are they a fairly pale red?

I took him and she said he is fine. She said his eyes are white and belly is soft. Also his ear is a little inflamed so she thinks he may have had a viral infection. Just said to keep an eye on it and make sure he's eating and drinking ok.
