Hi girls, on thursday I lost my plug so I went into the hospital to get checked and I was 4cms dilated with bulging membranes, they admitted me expecting my little man to arrive but 3 days later nothing has changed and I'm not contracting at all. They want to keep me in till I'm 34/35 weeks but I'm not really sure why, nothing is changing and if it does I only live 10 minutes from the hospital, I'm not sure how I could cope away from dd for that long, any advice or anyone with experience? Xx

They are probably keeping you in because you are now at risk of infection so they need to monitor it and act quickly if it happens. The first signs of infection I had was my temp rose and bp rose too. I was still feeling fine in myself at that time.

I didn't have any other children at the time but I know how hard it is being in hospital as I was there on bedrest for a month before delivering.

Good luck xx

they admitted me when I was 4cm with bulging membranes too, but I discharged myself because nothing was changing! I was back in about 4 days time with broken waters but at least I got a chance to eat before being admitted again!

I was told that after waters bulge, it's typically 2 weeks max til baby is born (versus just going into prem labour and stopping it). I lasted 8 days in hospital before going into labour again after similar thing as you <3

I'm in a similar boat, dilated to a 3cm at last check but now with ruptured waters and stuck in hospital until delivery but not in established labour so laying here waiting it out. Got 4 kids at home too, its brutal but in the best place for baby:hugs: They need us close because it can go very fast when it gets started and baby will need help as well as infection risk for waters breaking and monitors to make sure baby isnt getting into distress.

Its boring and can be scary, maybe we can pass the time together:hugs:

Hey ladies, sorry I haven't replied for some reason it didn't tell me Anyone had responded! I was finally discharged from hospital on bed rest, I'm 5cms dilated and membranes are still bulging. Baby is 3/5th engaged and I'm waiting for something to happen. I don't really know what to think tbh, obviously I want my little man to stay out as long as possible so he can be healthy and I'd love to avoid a SCBU stay! But at the same time, 10 days ago I was told my baby would be here within 24 hours so we sent relatives out for prem baby clothes and tried to prepare ourselves for an early baby, and now, nothing. Just sitting round waiting is killing me, I just wish I had a magic ball that could tell me when he's going to come! I'm too nervous to be home alone so I'm being constantly babysat which is driving me insain lol I feel like a 5 year old! Xx

Totally appreciate that hun <3 I only spent 8 days in that limbo, but started it at 27+6 and was told day before I had him that I might even make it to full term. Hope you get another week or two minimum, as sucky as it is

I got an emergency c-section because I was 5-6cm dilated with bulging membranes. Since the baby was breach and so premature they didn't want to risk larger parts of his body getting lodged into my cervix. The hospital is probably a safe place for you to be right now.

Thank you ladies, my little boy arrived on Monday morning at 32 weeks weighing a whopping 5lb 3oz! He's obviously in special care but doing well :) he's just gorgeous :) xx

Wow, what a great weight! I knew a woman who recently gave birth to a 32-weeker and he weighed 3lbs 15ozs. Hope his stay is a short one!!

Congrats!!!

Thats an amazing weight! My little guy lasted to bang on 32 weeks as well and I thought he was a good weight at 4lb 1oz (my other 32 weeker was 3lb 11oz so he seemed big:haha:) Hope you're recovering well and he has a short NICU journey:hugs:
