Hi ladies

Alfie did not sleep a wink last night and has ben on the breast permenantly all night and day he's 2 weeks and 3 days abd was wondering if anyone else experienced this at this stage??? I feel like he wants feeding all the time.

He won't settle in his mosesbasket either and just wants to be cuddled all the time too, any advice please?

I'm right there with you. Byron is 2 weeks and 2 days and the last 3 nights he's been awake and wanting to feed all night and now today he's been awake all day. He has a cold though which hasn't helped anything as he's all snotbags. I'm hoping this disturbed day might mean he sleeps tonight...

It took Byron a few days to settle in his moses basket too, would only go down in his rocker chair so we had him sleeping in the basket in the day when he slept well to try and get him used to it.

If you find an answer, let me know!

Could be a growth spurt i know jacob went through one about 2 weeks and all he wanted was to eat and not sleep!!! It settle down within a few days until he had another one at 6 weeks! XxX

They have a growth spurt at about 2 weeks. It should settle down. :) Like Ema says they have another at 6!

As the others have said - growth spurt!
When Oliver had this, he also wouldn't go down in his basket. We ended up letting him sleep in his bouncer in the end. Not ideal, but at least he was happy and sleeping.

Thanks girls, i sometimes feel like i'm the only Mummy in the world who's going thru this!!!! Nobody ever tells yous how hard BF is but i just keep thinking of how great it will be once we both have the hang of it!!! I went to a bosom buddies meeting last week and there was an old friend there who told me she had such a nightmare with her LO when she first started BF her nipples were bleeding etc and her LO is now 7 months and to see her latch on herself with no problems at all really filled me with confidence that there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

vic there is light, just hang in there. The first 6 weeks is really hard, but it does get easier and is SO worth it.

Ditto what Samantha said!! I cant believe how easy it is now - I find it so conveinient and I enjoy it too.

You're doing so well!! :hugs:

This is very normal. The first 3 months are like this, then it gets easier.Good luck.

I'm so determined to stick with it i know i will love it once the 6 weeks are past. When hes latched on properly i just love watching him feed its amazing!!!! i'm hanging in there i'm almost 1/2 way there now

just wanted to say hi and you're not alone. in fact i'm soooooooo pleased i found this thread. Gracie is 2 weeks 3 days old today and today and tonight has been a nightmare. Costantly wanting the boob.... prob resting 15 in between... then frenzied crying for more. Also same prob not settling in basket, often needing cuddles to sleep through!!!! Eeeeek.... it's so tough. Starting to think i'm not producing enuf milk! Hoping its a growth spurt like the girls have mentioned.

XXXX

I'm hoping so too. He's still unsettled and screamed non stop last nite and my nipples are so sore!!! Been to docs and they think we both have thrush  sooooooooooooooo tired too

aww hugs hun.I'm in a similar position.I do a 3 oz bottle at 10pm and I get 3 hrs guarenteed sleep.It will ease up,the 1st 6 - 8 weeks are awful xxx
