Hello and congrats to everyone who's pregnant after a loss. I'm hoping to be joining you soon.

I had a MMC & D&C on October 20, still had a faint BFP 3 weeks after that but AF showed up 2 weeks later (so 5 weeks after D&C).

Pre-miscarriage my cycles used to be around 29 days on average (could range from 27 to 31). I used to get CM and EWCM for a few days before so could pinpoint ovulation quite accurately.

I'm CD 16 and have been using OPKs for the first time but they're still negative. Not the slightest hint of CM either, so it doesn't look like I'm close to ovulating.

So my question is, did your cycles take long to regulate after a miscarriage? Is it possible to ovulate without having any CM/EWCM?

I fell pregnant quickly the first time and I'm scared that my body's all messed up now.

Thanks for any advice you can give! :flower:

Hi Fleur828815. I'm new the forums, but this is definitely a question with which I have some personal experience!

Yes, it felt like it took a long time for my body to get back to normal after my missed miscarriage and D&C... honestly, I'm not sure that it DID. I was still testing positive for hCG on home pregnancy tests 51 days out from the D&C. Crazy, right?

I was tracking my temperatures and OPK testing, and I saw what looked to be an ovulatory cycle in that window, but I didn't get my period when my temp dropped at the end of it. (Yes, of course that caused me to think I was pregnant... and I was testing pregnant... but it was definitely left over from the first pregnancy.) I tracked another cycle that looked ovulatory, and at the end of that - two months after the D&C - I had one day of bleeding. I guess that was my period coming back, though it was weak! I did have EWCM in both of those cycles that looked ovulatory on temps... the OPKS were weird though, many days of positives (possibly due to leftover hCG?).

The good news is that in the cycle after that weirdly short period, I got pregnant again! Only time will tell if it sticks.

It's so hard to feel like you don't know what's happening with your body. I'm sorry that you're going through this right now. I felt really messed up too, for those two months after the D&C. I think it can take more time than we expect for our bodies to regain their balance after being thrown like that.

Yeah it took about 3/4 cycles for mine to become regular again. I started to O a lot later than previously and my cycles were lasting around 33 days instead of the original 28. Going by my due date the cycle I conceived again I would have ovulated around my usual regular time.

I'm so sorry for your loss & I hope you get your rainbow soon 💚

Thank you both for sharing your experiences :flower:

Dayatatime, it does sound like your hormones went crazy for a while! I wish you a happy, stress-free pregnancy and a healthy baby.

hanni, congratulations to you too. I've been in a funk lately so it gives me hope when I read your stories.

I think it's going to take some more time for my body to go back to normal unfortunately, so no Christmas BFP as I was hoping after hearing that you're more fertile immediately after a miscarriage. Been doing OPKs for 10 days, had a faint line every day, it got darker on CD 20 but not even close to positive. CD 22 today and the line is practically invisible. So I didn’t even ovulate this month and I don’t know when I can expect AF.

I have a crazy cycle too :(
First AF arrived 34 days after my loss, then 8 days after AF finished I'm bleeding again like it's another AF :\ So defiantly not ovulating this month!
I'm going to order some vitex see if that helps, take action now rather then waiting a few cycles to " see what happens " with my cycles x

Sorry to hear that your cycles are so being so weird Stacey, hope the Vitex will help. Good luck with TTC your rainbow.

Before my d&c I had regular 28 day cycles, and a 14 day lutal phase. After my d&c it dropped to 23 day cycles and O around day 10-12. It definitely took a few months to figure it out. Best of luck!

Wow that's quite a difference from your previous cycles! I think I would prefer to have shorter cycles if I could choose, with my longer cycles I get less chances to TTC! My last cycle was anovulatory and this cycle I haven't had a positive OPK either so looks like it will be a while before things go back to normal for me too.
