I havent got the time we wanted for our wedding and I am not to happy about it, is there anything we can do about it ? anyone had the same problem? can we not find someone else to do it? :growlmad: gutted!

Other than change areas then I dont think there is hun. There are only 2 registrars that cover our area for the venue and luckily with 12mths notice they had the date and time we wanted.I dont think in the UK there are very many other options with regards who can marry you.

Could you not maybe change the date ? so you get the time you wanted?
what time is it for hun??
mine is at 2.30 in the afternoon x

do they not have any other times either?
you could always booked that time and maybe ask if they could contact you if there is a cancellation x

Yeh they had 11.30 and 4.30 left on that day ... but that weekend is really what we wanted as they had no Saturdays left and we're marrying on bank hol weekend so a Sunday but obviously it must be a busy time for them.

I think we have booked the 11.30 slot i suppose it could be worse. But its just annoying really as we're paying them to do a job !!

xx

TBH I probably sound awful here but I don't see what the problem is?

There is nothing you can do apart from either book the 11.30 one or the 4.30 one. At the end of the day it is the only times they have left. They can't just change all their other appointments to suit you iyswim xx

I'm not exactly sure if a registar is the same thing as a wedding officiant or not? But we actually had an issue with getting our marriage license on time for our destination wedding. We ran out of time when we flew in to our wedding location to get it before the wedding. So we still had our wedding ceremony and then the day after we went to get the marriage license to make it legal. Is that like the same thing for you, I'm not sure? Can you still have your wedding ceremony when you want and then go to the registar when they have time to make it legal? No one else has to know your ceremony isn't making you legally officially married yet! Hopefully you'll find something to work out for you!

I don't think she means taht hun :flower:

A registrar is the person who marries us ... kind of like a priest but not religous iykwim.

She is saying that the registrar can only do their service (marry them) at 11.30 or 4.30. No matter what time she gets it it will be legal  She's just not happy with the time x

Right, but if the time is the most important thing to her, then you can have anyone perform the ceremony and then go make it legal later. But if having that certain person perform it is important, then it wouldn't work.

Thanks for clarifying pink ... I am ok I think I am just grumpy, because I had ceremony planned for 2pm but I guess we can work around it! I will stop moaning now haha x

I must admit when I went to book ours I was looking at booking around 2pm but we only had 12pm or 4pm. I figured I'd go for the earlier one and have a longer day to enjoy the wedding  Just think You've got from 1pm to enjoy your wedding day rather than from 3.30-4pm (more time to get drunk) x

Think 2 is a really popular time!Thats what time ours is booked for as it flowed in nicely with the evening do.x

hahaahahaha true bring on the booze although i dont want to be half cut talking to the guests :happydance: lol x

thanks it will be fine I am sure ... theyd have it early in a church wouldnt they? x

TBH I haven't a clue, I'm not very religous! I know people say the day seems to fly over so I'm gald I have that extra bit of time even though its only 2 hours :D I don't plan on getting drunk.

Some people I know get absolutely wrecked and tbh I don't see the point. I want to remember ALL of my day not just bits of it! xx

I think church weddings vary too. My cousins was at 3pm straight to an evening reception. Ive just booked our wedding. We wanted the first available spot which is 7th August at 10.55am then we are going out for a meal after
xx

Sounds good Jayne, atleast we have extra time to do stuff ... make them most of the day! i am coming round to it now ;o) x

Our registrar couldnt do the time we wanted either, unfortunately there was nothing we could do :( so we're having our 'late' wedding at 3:30pm and because we have a blessing in the eve its all crammed in. Kinda trying to see the positives like in the morning i have more time to get ready and calm myself down, and the day wont have boring gaps in it :)

We were left with the last time of the day @ 13mons in advance so ours is at 3.30pm - we have a lot of people travelling from various places so atleast they can travel on the sat rather than after work on the friday

We also had the same problem and we booked almost a year in advance, we wanted a saturday wedding but they only did them before noon and the only date & time they had in August 2010 was 28th at 10.30am!!!

So we changed to a Friday, we wanted 2pm, had to settle for 3pm but I'm happy about it now!

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

I know how frustrating it is sweetie!

xXx

we have ours on the friday at 3pm. We had to book our registrar like a year and a half in advance for August!!!
