Hi all,
Last Monday I had my blood taken for screening for Down's syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities, yesterday I got a phone call from the midwife asking me to come in and see her.
I feared the worst about my test results, when I got there she said that they were unable to give me a % result on my blood tests because the result was 'truncated',
I had no idea what this meant and when explained I understand it to be that my HCG and PAPP-A levels were outside the testable levels,
Has anybody heard of this before? My levels were;
hCGb - 590.00 ng/mL = 16.3 MoM.
NT - 1.3 mm. = 0.83 MoM.
PAPP-A - 4702.10 mU/L = 2.8 MoM.
I can't find anyone with an hCG reading anywhere near mine, I have an appointment with the consultant next Friday, when I hope to find out more but the wait is awful,
How rare is a truncated screening result and what could it indicate?
I just don't know what to do
