Hi everyone :)

So I am 35 weeks along and we haven't settled on a name if our yellow bump turns pink!
For a boy we will use Albie.

DH is a teacher and doesn't want to use sooooo many names because students have ruined them for him. I don't really like super common or popular names.

So far, the top names we have are Dottie, Lola or Millie. We both like Dottie a lot but worry about them getting teased.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Looking forward to hearing them!!
So worried baby will be born and we won't have a name!

Out of the names you have listed I choose Millie. Dottie is cute but I can only picture it on a little toddler or very old Lady. Not sure how a teenage girl grown women would feel about the name . I'd consider this is as a nickname or middle name and go for something a little less cutsie (just my opinion though)

Millie and Lola are both very popular here, although I guess this could be different in Aus. I quite like Dorothy, shortened to Dottie. You could name her Dorothy but call her Dottie, giving her options to shorten it, or not when she's older.

I love Dottie. My grandma is Dorothy and she is often called Dottie. I don't know why anyone would be made fun of for that name. There is a Dottie in my son's preschool.

Penny, Colleen, Jolene, and Lorraine were several on our list. But we are getting another boy.

Thanks girls!! My husband doesn't like Dorothy  and I worry about the name Dottie not suiting an adult.

Does anyone have more name suggestions?

How about Maisie? It's similar to the names you've said you like and I adore it, though it is my daughter's name so I am slightly biased!

I like Millie. Not fussed on Lola or Dotty.
In my sons nursery there is a Dora and Nancy. I think Martha is a cute name too and not overly common.
Also I've called in love with the name Emmaline but sadly it clashes with our surname, but Millie would work well as a Nn for that.

I like Dottie, and if she thought it was too cutesy when she's older, she could always use Dot?

Love old lady names! Similar to your choices (other than Lola which is more trendy style) are

Nora (Eleanor)
Orla
Ivy
Nancy
Lily
Penny (Penelope)
Hettie (Henrietta)
Hattie (Harriet)
Evelyn
Iris

The name choices are cute. I really like Dottie but I'm not sure about it for a teen or adult. It's really adorable though!

How about:
Madeline
Evelyn
Laura
Edith

I like Lola a lot.

But Here a few suggestions:
  • Angeline/Angelina
  • Evelynn/Evelyn
  • Gabriella/Gabrielle
  • Gwen/Gwendolen
  • Juliet
  • Ashlyn/Ashlynn
  • Lilian
  • Hayley/Hailee
  • Lindsey/Lindsay

Oooh I love all 3 of your names! So beautiful and feminine. And I LOVE Albie for a boy!

Our girls name shortlist is

Penelope
Elodie
Caliope
Hadley
Nora

I hope you find a name that you both love :flower:

Millie was my doll's name growing up so I'm biased. LOL

Millie and Lola are my fave 2 from your list.

Some suggestions: Maisie, Daisy, Lily, Lorelei, Aurora, Delilah, Cora, Caia, Mollie, Polly, Heidi, Naomi, Layla :flower:
