I had my period on the 17th of Feb, took a digital OPK on the 28th came back as a smiley face for peak, last w20160309_133028.jpgeek tests were coming back faint positive and now they have become lighter. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Hmm, I'm not seeing a line on there. Do you have pics of any of the tests from last week, the ones that were coming back faint positive? Were any of them pink dye tests?

So the first thing that popped into my head--I was getting faint lines on blue dye tests earlier last year, went in for bloodwork and it came back totally negative (blood hCG<0). So I learned that sometimes with the blue dye tests (the Target/Walgreens brand ones in my case), they can show a line even when hCG is less than 0. I switched to only using pink dye tests (Wondfo and First Response Early Result) for that reason.

These are the 1s that I took on 3/6, I have also taken 2 frer and a faint pink line showed up but I can't get a picture to come out good enough to see the line.

I do see the faint lines on all three of those cassette tests. If the lines are getting lighter, I think the best thing thing would be to ask your doctor if they can run some bloodwork to look at your hCG.

I have gotten faint lines on cassette tests before, rushed in for bloodwork, only to find that hCG was basically zero. In fact, the same thing has even happened to me with FRERs. My fertility NP had no explanation for it, she said it's likely just an artifact of the test (eg evap line or indent). That may be what's going on in this case, but it is really hard to tell without bloodwork.

On the other hand, when lines show faintly and then begin to fade, it can sadly also be an indication of a chemical pregnancy. If this is the case, I am so so sorry. The symptoms of a chemical are faint pregnancy test lines that gradually fade, and a late period.

I attached some pics of my June 2015 chemical below. I was using Wondfos that cycle, and only had visible lines for two days before the lines started to fade.

I have gotten nasty nasty evap with these

I've gotten some pretty nasty evaps with the walmart cheapie too. Never trust blue dye at all. Good luck though!

These are from today with fmu and same brand of test, it looks like lines are coming back compared to the last few days with nothing showing, help I need opinions and eyeballs lol

Hmm, I'm not seeing anything on those last ones.

If you ovulated on Feb 28th, meaning that you are 21 DPO, I would indeed expect to see clear lines showing on the tests. I would let your doctor know what's going on so you can get some bloodwork done and hopefully get some answers.

Were you temping this cycle? If so, have your temps remained high? If so, that would be a great sign.

Sometimes a +OPK can indicate a false LH surge and not the actual LH surge. Some women experience multiple surges before the final one that triggers ovulation. Unfortunately temping is the only way to be sure that ovulation actually occurred. Did you have any other signs of ovulation on Feb 28th--a pinching feeling on one side, etc? x

I don't know why my pics didn't upload like the others but I hope you can click on them and maybe see the line.

I dont see a line on those. Can you take a frer?
Could it be what ppl refer to as a chemical???
Ive no experience with them so im sorry im no help in the explaining of them but others on here im sure will be able to help you

Temp still elevated is a good sign. There are definitely cases of women who are pregnant but for some reason tests don't go positive.

However, as Alfie mentioned, a chemical pregnancy is one possibility. Not to cause alarm, but another possibility that only a doctor can investigate and rule out, is an ectopic pregnancy. Sometimes (especially in the very early stages) the only signs of an ectopic are missed period and improperly rising hCG levels.

Seeing a doctor and getting bloodwork done is the only way to get any definitive answers. At 21-22 DPO, there is even a chance that something could be seen on an ultrasound. Hugs

I see a line on the last test but it looks like an evap
