Well Hello ladies..

Since I know some of us are having a hard time getting our :bfp: that we all deserve..
I was just wondering what you all are doing to increase chances of getting pregnant..
and wanted to start a thread so we can all share them with eachother.. so maybe we can all learn something new.. and try different things to help us increase the our chances

Share away ladies :flower:

this thread sounds a good idea, Its too early for me to be thinking properly, but thought I would bring this back up so it doesn't get lost!

I doubt I have any new suggestions to add but I'm taking Pregnacare (a pre-pregnancy multi-vit), drinking disgusting green tea (read it ups fertility) and may begin agnus castus if my cycles don't regulate. I have PCOS so it's very difficult to spot ovulation. Oh, am dieting too, using MyFitnessPlan, as I had baby weight to lose after the miscarriage. Have lost about 10lb in just over a month but still got around 15lb to lose, though would be happy to shed another 5lb initially. If you have PCOS and are overweight, losing as little as 10% of your body weight can help regulate cycles. I follow a low carb, low sugar diet (luckily am not insulin resistant) and stick to 1200 cals a day. I should exercise more but... ugh ;-)

I'd also like to do acupunture or acupressure but I live in Sarajevo, Bosnia (am from UK) and can't find a certified practioner. I think it would be good for relaxation if nothing else.

I've got my DH on zinc too, for increased sex drive, lol ;-)

Good luck everyone, look forward to extra tips!

Clare

Becareful with green tea as it can cause drops in folic acid, which increases the risk of spina bifida...

It's scientifically proven to do so, how ever it is not scientifically proven to improve fertility, hope that helps.

And zinc doesn't just help sex drive it improves sperm quality aswell I think.

My multi-vit has folic acid in it, don't worry. Thanks though :)

It doesn't matter, it still causes big dips.

Do a bit of research, I personally don't think its worth the risk.

My fertility specialist warned me against Green tea - I used to drink it loads, but it just is not worth the risk x

I am really eating better...making sure I get all the food groups. I am also taking a multi-vitamin and drinking loads of water (instead of juice or soda). I am not really doing anything out of the ordinary, but hoping positive changes will help create a positive attitude/outcome. This next cycle, I am going to try and relax....I become a little obsessive.....

After 6 months of trying we used Preseed and got our BFP that first month trying it. I am using it again this time around, and hopefully it works for us again! I also take Vitamin B6 to try and lengthen my LP and drink grapefruit juice to also help my CM. Oh, and this month we're also trying the Sperm Meets Egg Plan.

Best of luck to you ladies! I used CBFM and pre-seed. And made sure I -ahem- 'peaked' after the boys had been deposited  so that they got sucked further up by the waves

Re: green tea, a substance in it inhibits your body's ability to absorb Folic acid. If you do want to take green tea I would suggest limiting it to one cup a day, increasing your Folic dose and leaving as big a time delay as possible between taking the tea and the FA (eg Folic when you get up, tea in the afternoon or evening). Until my angel was diagnosed I never realised that some of us struggle to metabolise Folic acid x

I chart my temps, I have PCOS too and this really helps me to know when I ovulate because my cycles are all over the place and OPK's can be unreliable for women with PCOS.

Having said that, I got some left over OPK's from a friend of my mum so I'm going to use them this cycle, simply because I have them.

I take agnus castus which seems to have really helped my cycles - I'm convinced this is what helped me get pregnant in the first place and I've just started taking cinnamon capsules as I've heard it can help regulate your blood sugar levels and therefore help you lose weight. It's too soon to say if they're working or not yet.

I'm also taking pre-natal vitamins with folic acid and omega 3. I was originally taking it for memory problems but I've heard it's good to take when you're TTC/pregnant as it's good for baby's brain development.

I bought Pre-seed lubricant but we've not had a chance to use it yet. We will be this cycle though.
