Hello, I am approx 6 weeks pregnant (yet to be determined-irregular cycles) so this morning I got up to pee, and I was bleeding. Definitely bleeding, not spotting. I went into emergency, and luckily my dr was there on call. So we did an abdominal ultrasound, And all we could see was the gestational sack. So then they did the vaginal ultrasound, which showed gestational sack and yolk sack with heartbeat. Nothing else was clearly visible, as the small town hospital doesn't have state of the art equipment by any means. In any case, after that, he checked my cervix which is closed, and said the blood is old blood. I did another Bhcg draw today and go in again for another draw on Saturday. I'm also going to the city for. Better ultrasound on Monday. I'm on prometrium, so I am under the impression that there should be no bleeding, unless miscarriage is inevitable. I'm just looking for some words of encouragement, or similar situations and what the outcome was. Thank you

Bleeding doesn't always mean miscarriage and being on progesterone doesn't mean no bleeding. A large number of us are on/were on progesterone and still had bleeding. I'm very sorry you are the unknown phase at this point, but seeing a heartbeat is a good thing. Good luck this week. :hugs:

hate to read and run but just wanted to wish you good luck. hope that it works out great for you i too have read that hearing or seeing the heartbeat is a good thing

Hi,I am 25 weeks now finally. I was prescribed progesterone after 3 recurrent mc's. I spotted all the way through my first trimester. Bled bright red fresh blood at 8 weeks just over night. At 12+6 I bled so much even the hospital thought the worst but no she was still holding on. Progesterone doesn't always mean no bleeding and bleeding doesn't always mean the worst case scenario. X
