I am in my room now, and still completely in awe of how things went today. After 8 months of stressing like crazy about my c-section, I am happy to say that baby Jack was delivered quickly and safely today and we're both doing really well!

I had an incredibly traumatic EMCS the first time, so when I walked into the OR this afternoon, I cried. A lot. The resident doc felt so bad for me! My surgeon tried to calm me down.

I'll admit that the spinal really really hurt me. I didn't think it would. And it doesn't hurt a lot of people, but it hurt me pretty badly. I didn't freak about not being able to move my legs at all. I stayed remarkably calm.

Jack was out within 2 minutes. As soon as they pushed on my uterus, he came charging out and actually shocked the surgeons a little! Closing up went so well. So far, no excessive bleeding.

I moved into recovery then to my room where baby latched almost immediately (I wasn't able to BF my first baby after the trauma). My diet was changed from liquid to solid within 5 hours. I am in absolutely zero pain right now, though I know it's coming :)

My daughter was SO excited!! She came to visit and was so happy to meet her baby brother.

Today was a GREAT day and I'm so impressed at how quickly and smoothly it has all gone so far.
