Im not sure why I havent posted in here sooner!!
Most of you will know I've been trying since sept 07, so I'll fill you in with where I am!

DH been tested,and all is fine, I've had my bloods and apparently im ovulating.

Due to see gynae this friday to discuss a lap and tube flushing!

Anyone else had a lap before?

welcome, i moved over here a couple of months ago when we started at the fertility clinic.

i havent had a lap yet but im hoping that the next thing if clomid doesnt work, i think some of the girls on here have though so they should be able to answer you.

Ive had a lap done.
You can try afterwards but make sure you are comfrtable (physically) first as you can be a bit sore for a few days.

A lap is really nothing to worry about

I had one back in June and it was very straight forward (although I did have a cyst removed too). You will have three small incisions, one in the belly button and two small incisions, one on the bottom right of your belly and one on the bottom left. You will be slightly sore afterwards and very very gassy (your belly will be bloated for a while). I was told to start trying as soon as the bleeding stopped and when YOU feel comfortable to (as at first you have to take it easy to not pop the stitches). Its only a day procedure so you will probably go to hospital at 7am that morning and be released by around 2pm-3pm (unless you are very sick after op and have to be kept in for observations). Be warned though, as when you take a pee afterwards it hurts like hell !!! but this goes away after a few days. Also if and when you have this, make sure someone who drives gets you and its worth having a pillow to press on your belly on the drive home as it can be quite uncomfy going over holes in the road etc..

After my op, and the following month I had a mad period (9-10 days in total) but well worth doing.

Hi Ya,

had Lap & Dye test.

had slight endometiosis found with the lap but my tubes are fine following the dye test (HSG)

I actually found the HSG more painful than the lap, the only uncomfortable thing about the lap was the air traped in my shoulders! Hope all goes well x

I'm booked in to have my 3rd lap end of next week, so if you've got any questions, ask away!

My first lap was back in 2001 as they thought I had endo (was all clear) and I was really only bloated with AF type cramps for about 4 days then I was fine.

My last one was March this year I also had D&C, dye test, uterine biopsy but I reckon the FS butchered me because my stomach was black and blue and I was in agony for 2 weeks. Even prescription pain killers did nothing for the pain.

My next one will be to remove the septum in my uterus and to check everything in general (because the last 2 were obviously done by incompetant *******s who didn't pick up the septum...) so i'm expecting to be sore afterwards.

Going from my laps, for me, BD was definitely out of the question! Infact with my last one (was done on CD 10 I think) AF didn't come for another 50 days! And then my next 2 AFs were 42 and 30 days.

Check with them that they're going to do a D&C with the lap because if they do, apparently it makes you more fertile for 3 months, so that could help!

I had a lap as you know hun....we couldnt do it without using a condom from AF to the lap which was about 6 days after my AF and then after that we waiting 4 days till i felt a little better and the bleeding had stopped as you can get an infection if your still bleeding

I'd been advised that a lap wouldn't be necessary - they said they got all the details from the internal ultrasound. Hope it goes well for you
